One Last Go-Around: Under-the-Radar Seniors Ready to Show Out

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Senior salute! It may be these girls' last time competing in the high school ranks, but you better believe there is some unfinished business left to attend to. This class of 2027 is going to go out with a bang, leaving their mark on an impressive career. We all know of those who have committed, the highly-touted ones, but there are a few who are just hitting their stride and ready to show off their talents one last go-around.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In my previous article, I compared the Bon Jovi song “It's My Life” to our Tennessee basketball players. One thing I will say about this group of kids is that they are resilient. They put up a good fight. They compete. No matter where their feet are, they will give it their best effort and then some. I am excited to see this senior class put on for one last time. They are ready to leave their mark on Tennessee basketball history.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As I mentioned earlier, this class is filled with a good crop of kids who will go on to compete at the next level. However, more kids are just now reaching their peak. It's going to be their year. Long and lanky, she's athletic and brings a competitive mindset into the fold. Look for her to have an outstanding senior season and continue to attract the eyes of collegiate coaches. One who gets after it on the boards, knows how to use her body to block shots without fouling. Offensively, she can stretch the floor by knocking down the 3-ball from the perimeter and also finish from block to block. Also has a soft mid-range jumper in her arsenal. A kid who has a knack for being around the board. A tenacious rebounder, she goes after the ball, leaps with two hands to secure it, and then starts the break, pushing it up the floor or throwing relay passes to open teammates. Offensively, she can finish inside, displaying counter moves over either shoulder. She can exploit the perimeter, knocking down 3-pointers at a high clip. She gives her squad an edge by the way she plays and gets after it on every possession. She deters shots, making it difficult for opponents to operate. This season, she will anchor the middle for the Lady Lions. From attacking from the perimeter to knocking down shots from different spots on the floor, she is going to put the ball in the hole no matter what. She is a tenacious defender who gets after it. One of her attributes is her ability to rebound the basketball. A selfless ballplayer who is willing to do whatever it takes to help her team win.
