The 2026 Expo was loaded with talent as 100+ prospects took the court in front of PGH scouts and college coaches representing D2, D3, NAIA, NCCAA, and JUCO programs. Our format included 4 hours of games split up into predetermined 3v3 and 5v5 matchups. Every participant is featured in our post-event articles, which is a unique and special feature of the Prep Girls Hoops showcases. Social media coverage, post-event evaluations, and a great presence of college coaches in the gym to watch many of the girls who will one day help their programs are elements that make this a special annual experience. Girls had the opportunity to be coached by different college coaches during games and competed alongside great high school talent. My coverage focused primarily on teams 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, and 12. Here is a snapshot of what I observed from players competing on Team 12 at the showcase:

Nia showed great finishing touch in traffic from beginning to end at the PGH Michigan Expo. She was aggressive, poised, and able to slash to the rim, then finished efficiently when she got there. Nia attacked downhill with a dribble burst to drive by her defender, then converted a tough, off-platform layup. She dished out accurate entry passes with a soft touch. Nia used a high rip move and absorbed contact well to finish with her left at the rim. She stretched to score a contested layup around a defender, landed on two feet, and swished the floater after a high rip move. She accelerated down the baseline, spun to get the space she needed, then scored with her off hand without using the backboard. Nia was a playmaker for Team 12 and is about to have a stellar sophomore campaign at Davison.

Taylor is a stat stuffer, and she had a solid day for Team 12 at the PGH Michigan Expo. Her sharp instincts on both ends of the court, non-stop motor, and selfless style help the team be successful. Taylor is a sharpshooter from three-point range, has the ball on a string, changes directions with ease, facilitates effectively, rebounds, and disrupts opponents with her scrappy ball pressure. She drained a corner three, ripped the ball quickly to score a speedy layup after making a smooth transfer to her left, and pushed the tempo after securing rebounds to create fast-break scoring opportunities. Taylor anticipates misses off the rim and sprints inside to grab offensive rebounds. She used an excellent pivot move to create a scoring angle, then finished a putback with her left. Taylor will be an exciting playmaker in the Northville backcourt, and she's ready to take on a big role this winter for the Mustangs.

Carley threaded multiple entry passes into the post with the right loft and touch to give teammates quality looks at the basket. She's a confident shooter from beyond the arc, and her ability to shift gears, change hands, and slash to the hoop makes her an effective dual-threat scorer. Carley split a gap with a dribble burst and finished the layup. She had a productive day for Team 12 at the PGH Michigan Expo and is a talented guard who will be a great pickup for a college program.

Hayden's consistent effort, active rebounding, and two-way presence caught my attention. She showed her outside range by sinking a smooth step-back wing three and maintained good balance on her shot. She closed out hard to block a shot and was extremely aggressive in the passing lanes on defense, creating multiple steals and deflections. Hayden battled for positioning and secured rebounds on both ends of the court. She's physical, tough, and has a versatile skill set that will make her a very impactful player in the lineup this winter. Hayden made a great impression with Team 12 at the PGH Michigan Expo.

Aaliyah has athleticism and length as a guard that immediately pops out when she takes the court. She had the ball on a string and created space from pressure with a variety of quick crossover combinations, switching hands with ease. Aaliyah protected the basket as a shot blocker and showed off her high-flying leaping ability by climbing an invisible ladder to swat a layup attempt off the backboard. She threw long lead passes over the defense for assists in transition, and drilled a long jumper off a crossover. Aaliyah has a second gear and explosive first step when she drives to the basket. She used a sudden crossover dribble to get by her defender with a burst, blew by, and scored with an inside finish at the rim. Aaliyah is a talented prospect who can be an immediate gamechanger for a college program. She was an impact player for Team 12 at the PGH Michigan Expo and looks poised for a big finale at Lakeview.

Hannah contributed in a variety of ways to help Team 12 compete at the PGH Michigan Expo. She was active on the boards and crashed the offensive glass hard to battle for a rebound, ripped the ball away, used an effective pivot, then scored an emphatic one-bucket off two feet. Hannah kept her eyes up in transition and threw a long lead pass over the defense to a sprinting teammate in stride for an assist. She stayed active on the defensive end to generate steals and gave the team a perimeter threat. Hanna was a key contributor as a freshman at Jefferson, and she looks ready for an even better sophomore season.

Rhylee made a good first impression with Team 12 at the PGH Michigan Expo. Her size and strength will be difficult for opponents to match up against this winter. Rhylee has the ability to shoot the mid-range jumper, and she worked hard on the defensive end to force misses without fouling. Rhylee set strong screens for guards to alleviate ball pressure on the perimeter, and moved to open space. She's an intriguing forward prospect and will be a player I follow at Portage Central over the coming years.

Eloise is a versatile, athletic, and mobile forward prospect who continues to show qualities that will make her a heavily targeted recruit sooner rather than later. She has good length and moves very well for her size. Eloise sprinted the floor in transition, caught passes in stride, and made good transfers to convert layups without missing a step. She shoots the three and buried a triple from the corner. Eloise deflected passes on the defensive end to create steals. She turned in a solid performance at the PGH Michigan Expo for Team 12 and will be a stat stuffer for Ludington again this winter.
