The 2026 Expo was loaded with talent as 100+ prospects took the court in front of PGH scouts and college coaches representing D2, D3, NAIA, NCCAA, and JUCO programs. Our format included 4 hours of games split up into predetermined 3v3 and 5v5 matchups. Every participant is featured in our post-event articles, which is a unique and special feature of the Prep Girls Hoops showcases. Social media coverage, post-event evaluations, and a great presence of college coaches in the gym to watch many of the girls who will one day help their programs are elements that make this a special annual experience. Girls had the opportunity to be coached by different college coaches during games and competed alongside great high school talent. My coverage focused primarily on teams 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, and 12. Here is a snapshot of what I observed from players competing on Team 10 at the showcase:

Imani is a quick and shifty guard who can slash to the rim, sink the outside jumper, and make a difference with her aggressiveness on the defensive end. She sprinted back to deflect a pass in transition and finished a fast break with a layup. Imani showed her outside range by knocking down a smooth straightaway three off a screen. Imani was solid for Team 10 at the PGH Michigan Expo.

Rayonna worked hard to apply pressure on the perimeter for Team 10 at the PGH Michigan Expo. She moved her feet quickly to disrupt ball handlers and kept her hands active in the passing lanes. Rayonna threw a great long entry pass over the top into the paint and wasn't afraid to pull it from beyond the arc. She's an aggressive guard who can facilitate, defend, and provide a scoring option.

Quinn is a crafty point guard who made a positive impact at the PGH Michigan Expo for Team 10 with her poised ball-handling and instincts as a facilitator. She switched hands confidently in the open court and pushed the tempo to create transition scoring opportunities. Quinn sees the court well and fires skip passes to open teammates. Her quick feet help prevent dribble penetration on the defensive end, and she can finish in traffic on strong drives to the rim.

Cevanna picked up her first college offer from Wayne State in July, and she definitely demonstrated the qualities of a guard prospect that translate to the higher levels at the PGH Michigan Expo. Cevanna has a long frame, athleticism, quickness, and shifty guard skills that immediately grab your attention. A defender tried picking Cevanna up way out on the perimeter, and she crossed over to her left, then attacked downhill with a burst to get to the rim. I liked how Cevanna went up many times with her left around the basket. She drove hard to the basket for an off-hand finish, caught a pass with good hands to score an athletic layup, and created open shots for teammates off dribble penetration. Cevanna was unselfish with the ball and very effective as a facilitator. She changed directions on a dime using smooth crossover dribbles. Cevanna screened for a teammate to create an open look leading to three points. She had a notable day for Team 10 and is a prospect with a high ceiling at Belleville.

Violet made the effort plays and gave Team 10 a spark with her presence on the perimeter. Her shot fakes fooled defenders on the perimeter. Violet got her defender to bite on a shot fake, created separation with a step-back dribble, then served up a facial by sinking the contested three-pointer. She hustled to secure rebounds, swiped a ball away for a steal with her quick hands, and moved her feet well to cut off drives. Violet has deep range and handles the ball well with either hand. She showed the qualities at the PGH Michigan Expo that will make her a productive member of the South Lyon East backcourt this winter.

Sheana has a competitive edge and determination that leaves an impression when she takes the court. Her defensive presence and grit stood out during the games with Team 10 at the PGH Michigan Expo. Sheana ripped the ball away in the backcourt for a steal and drove hard to the basket to draw a foul. She drove downhill with a burst and forced the help to foul multiple times. Sheana kept her hands active and forced turnovers with her aggressiveness on defense. Her quick hands and feet disrupt ball-handlers. Sheana wasn't afraid to pull it from beyond the arc, and she scrapped for inside position to secure rebounds. Sheana will be a solid addition to a college program and looks ready for a big senior season at Lake Fenton.

Demiya was one of the most noticeable newcomers in the gym at the PGH Michigan Expo. She contributed in every phase of the game for Team 10 and separated herself on the court as a result. She's athletic and has a strong, compact build that enables her to finish through contact and match up well inside on the defensive end. Demiya drove hard down the baseline to score a layup and used great spin dribbles in traffic to score at the rim and cause fouls. She demonstrated the intangibles and character that you want to see in a next-level prospect. Demiya communicated with teammates in transition on the defensive end and was the most animated player on the bench during games that I watched throughout the day. She clapped, talked, encouraged, directed, and was fully engaged from the sideline. Demiya threw a long pass on a rope over the defense for a fast-break assist, created steals on defense with her quick feet/pressure, and showed her outside range by sinking a smooth corner three. Avondale has an exciting group of guards and will be a tough team to match up against.

Libby started strong at the PGH Michigan Expo in 3v3 and continued her productive day in games with Team 10. She shoots the ball well from beyond the arc, and she's mobile enough to defend the perimeter. I've updated her position to stretch forward because I see her being recruited to play that role at the next level. She drained a three up top off the hop, tripled from the wing, and knocked down another triple off the hop from the slot. Libby used an excellent pivot to create enough space to get her shot off, then finished high off the glass with a defender in her face. She demonstrated good footwork again in the paint and used the glass to convert a tough shot. Libby stayed aware in the gap and in help on the defensive end, rotated well, and contested shots aggressively to force misses. She's going to have a breakout sophomore campaign at Brighton this winter and will give the Bulldogs an advantage in their frontcourt.

Evia has length and skill as a guard that translates to the next level. She shoots the three, contests shots well on the perimeter to force misses, switches hands comfortably to create space against pressure using crossovers/between-the-leg dribble combinations, and doesn't force the issue when it's not there. One of Evia's highlight moments was when she crossed over quickly from the top of the key to elude her defender, attacked straight downhill off the dribble, then stretched out with her left to score a graceful same-foot, same-hand finish. She'll be a prospect at Bloomfield Hills to follow, and I'm anticipating a big junior season.
