Recruitment Update: September 23rd, 2026

Here are a few athletes out of Iowa that have recently received interest, been offered or they have recently committed to compete at the next level following their impressive AAU seasons this Summer.   Every player listed has shown off their skill-set over the years with their varsity high school team and that has helped them prove to recruiters that they have what it takes to suit up at the next level following their high school careers. Interest/Offers: South Dakota (SD)   Eden Horn locked in her first D1 offer last week when she took a visit to South Dakota to check out what the Coyotes what going on. Horn is appealing to D1 coaching staff's throughout the Country because of her size. She is one of the tallest hoopers we have in the state and that's not going to change moving into this next season. We still have a lot of questions for Horn. She plays against 1A level competition throughout the Winter so she isn't really tested too much being the size and position she is for that Class level. She has done well on the road during AAU season so far but her progression moving forward will be key, just like for anyone who is in the 2029 Class moving forward.     Commitment: Loras College (IA)   It's simple to say but Maura Trierweiler has been somewhat overshadowed the last three years. Trierweiler is a 5'8 CG, that plays the game the correct way. She always understands the objective of what her team is trying to accomplish and she does everything in her power to help them reach that objective. She isn't someone that is going to kill the competition with flashy moves but more-so with her fundamental play. She can get hot when she see's a few shots fall early on offense and she is a sound defender at her own position so she can stick on the floor in important moments. I think Trierweiler is going to shine in Dubuque. She is going to a well ran program so I'm very excited to see what she can put together following this Winter season.     Commitment: Wartburg (IA)   Riley Mudderman has been a key contributor at Kee High School for three years now and she is going to be their main producer once again this Winter as a Senior. Mudderman, the 5'5 PG, has recently committed to D3 - Wartburg College out of Iowa. Wartburg is a school that is always in the conversation for a Conference Title while usually being a name to know Nationally at the D3 level as well. Mudderman is going to have to fight for playtime, just like anyone else coming in and I think she has a shot to be someone they call early on within her career. She will take some lumps and bruises at the start but that's a part of growing up within this game and she accepts that. As long as she pushes through it, she is going to be just fine as she continues to get better.     Interest/Offers: Valpo (IN)   We saw some glimpses of real skill out of Ali Aguirre last season at Ankeny High School. This Winter she will be competing with the in-state powerhouse that is The Johnston Dragons and if she can find her niche early on within their group, she should look like a star throughout their Winter seasons the next few years. They obviously already have some top dawgs in place as they are coming off of back-to-back 5A State Titles so I know the coaching staff won't make any drastic changes but the addition of Aguirre to their program could come in clutch down the line. We are talking about a 6'0/6'1 CG, who moves REALLY well for her size from the outside so it's not crazy to think she could play a big role in their success from now on. Recently Aguirre was hit with one of her first D1 offers from Valpo out of Indiana. This might be on of her first offers but it definitely won't be her last. We have only scrapped the tip of the iceberg here and I think there is still a lot left for others to discover.     Interest/Offers: Iowa Central (IA)   Each year we have a prospect moving into their Senior year at the Guard position who is wanted by every D3, NAIA, and Juco school the Midwest has to offer. It's like clock work. Last season it was Lena Evans of CCA, who is now at D2 - Wayne State. This year it's Emma Walkup of Pella High School. At this point the skilled PG might have 20+ offers from schools in the Midwest, not to mention if schools from other regions throughout the Country have reached out. Walkup is a skilled playmaker with the rock in her possession. She can command the offense vocally and lead everyone by example at a noteworthy rate. She has done that for years now at the Varsity level and when you see her on the court with other skilled hoopers - you can see that she makes everyone else around her better. That what college coaching staffs are seeing right now and that's why Walkup will continue to receive offers until the day she ends up committing.     Commitment: Kirkwood CC (IA)   Victoria Williams has committed to Kirkwood CC out of Cedar Rapids to continue on her Basketball career. I truly love this move for both Williams and Kirkwood as a whole. This is a hooper that has shown promise over the years out of Ames. She has been someone that her team can rely on and she always has produced solid numbers. If she can get some more experience on her belt, she is going to be really good for another program following her Kirkwood stint. She is athletic, fast acting, and smart thinking. Sometimes you just need to take an extra year and compete for a D2 Juco National Title before moving to that next NCAA level and that's what we have here.
