is a college level PG so I’m happy that she is starting to get some love from the next level. Walkup is known for her smooth demeanor out on the floor. She handles pressure with ease and is very calm whenever she competes. She is the type that is never too high or too low attitude-wise. She understands her job on the floor as a creating PG but she can also score at a thorough rate for her position and she is a sound defender on that side of the ball as well. As of most recent, Walkup grabbed an offer from D3 – Central (Dutch) College out of Iowa. I love this fit for Walkup within that conference to be honest. She is the type that could lead that group in several positive statistical categories over her career if she locks in properly over the next couple of seasons but we will have to wait and see where she ends up.

Emma Walkup, have yourself a weekend! That’s the best way to describe Walkup and some of the performances she put on this last weekend in Milwaukee. Walkup was getting every shot to fall, she was hitting others that were open at a heavy rate, and most importantly – she controlled everything humanly possible to help her team win 2 of their 4 games. Over those four games, she averaged 15 PPG, 3 RPG, 2.7 APG, and 2.6 SPG. I’m not sure who is in the running right now but Emma Walkup is going to be one hell of a college PG. The way she can transition from being the leading scorer on her team to the leading distributor is not a skill most have, even at the PG position.

as just a SG. Walkup has a good feel with the ball, better than average vision down the floor, and she has an overall smart head on her shoulders for decision making in any situation. This past season Walkup played her part. She made impactful plays on both sides of the ball and she always gave it a valiant effort while trying to compete. She has been one of the most coordinated players within her program for a few years now and that will be the case once again for her Senior season this upcoming Winter. I’m really curious how

is going to compete on the road this Spring. If their prospects like Walkup can play with confidence, they could win a lot of games in the long run over the next few months.

is as smooth as they come as a guard. I would consider her more of a PG than a SG but she knows how to score it in so many ways that you can go either way honestly. Walkup has an effortless handle, great vision on and off the ball, and an act for always making a play when it’s needed the most. We watched Walkup hit shots over defenders all afternoon while also being a willing passer. She is the type to never be too high or too low attitude wise, always staying pretty mellow, even in success and that makes her even more intriguing in the grand scheme of things.

of Pella is as smooth as they come as it pertains to the skill side of the game. Walkup is a 5’7 PG with a lot of swag. She is a pass-first PG by choice but she can also light up the nets with her shooting ability if she see’s a shot go in early during a contest. Walkup has stood out whenever we have been around to watch her compete and I’m sure she will have her moments this weekend at this event in Des Moines. If she competes to her full capabilities, she is going to kill it and she is going to standout as one of the best in the building. Now it’s just about going out to make it happen now.

is the definition of a Scoring Guard. Walkup plays with a lot of swag. She is very smooth in everything she does out on the floor. She moves effortlessly with the ball and that helps her kill her individual matchups. I haven’t seen many that can stay in-front of Walkup in the open court once she gets downhill. She is just too crafty for only one player to defend so opposing teams usually bring help with another defender in some form. We should see Walkup put up big numbers this Winter. She is going to be someone who is going to be looked upon to make a lot of buckets so if she can take care of businesses, we should hear about her more and more.

has a deep bag on both sides of the floor. Walkup, a 5’7 PG, is shifty, crafty, plays off of two, she makes smart choices with the rock in her hands, and she has a calculated aggression to her. She doesn’t force any un-needed action looking for something isn’t there. She has a great feel for the game and that shows whenever she is hooping. Over the past couple of days, Walkup is putting up 16 PPG, 3 RPG, and 2 APG. These numbers have helped her squad win some impressive games and it’s noteworthy. At the next level, Walkup is going to be productive and pretty nice as an overall hooper. Within the right system, she could make some things happen at some impressive rates.

makers her debut within the Top Fifty for the 2027 Class in this Update. Walkup has put together a great Spring AAU season and a great college elite camp season as well in the month of June. She is playing some tough ball right now and really showing off what she can do at a high rate whenever she is out on the floor. She checks off all the basic boxes of being coordinated, impactful with the ball, and being someone that makes everyone else around her better in real time. She can also shoot it pretty well off the catch when it is rotated back to her. All in all, a lot to like out of Walkup at this moment in time. If she stays the path, she will have a few offers before you know it.

of Pella High School showed during this Elite camp. The players were put through several different skill drills prior to playing 5’s and Walkup looked like a natural through it all. She was assisting others, making most of her attempts, and really showing out in everything going on. There were five or six players that really stood out at this event and Walkup is in that conversation. I’ll be seeing Walkup compete next week at Summer Jam. I’m excited to see what she will put together for the weekend.

If you’re just looking for a solid prospect out of the 2027 Class, that doesn’t do too much but still yields positive results in her contests, look no further than Emma Walkup of Lady Pure Prep 16U. Walkup isn’t going to kill you with fancy moves or crazy scoring outbursts but if you don’t pay attention to her, she will have a double-double before you know it. She will get to the paint and score off two feet, she will rebound over most others who don’t have that aggressive edge, and she is someone who can pass if you over-play her on the drive. This was stuff that was all on display this past weekend in Des Moines. Walkup was taking what the defense was giving her, making smart plays, and converting on most of her attempts because of it. All things that were needed to help this 16U team go 4-0 in their endeavorers.
