We saw Boens go to work this Winter with her DCG squad and she played some respectable ball overall as the year went on. Boens is a 6’1 CG/SF, that primarily plays between the 3 and 4 spot, depending on who else is placed around her. With her natural height and physical edge, she loves to work through contact near the bucket. She is a steady rebounder on both ends, she defends her position well, and because of her size and guard-like skill set she can switch onto whichever position necessary on that side of the floor. This Spring Boens will compete with Lady Pure Prep ‘s 17U team. That roster should have a few top notch producers on it so it’ll be fun to see how they stack up on the road this Spring.

compete yet but once they do, everyone will understand that she could be a top producer in the state, no matter her age or grade level. Boens has solid size at 5’10, she is physical and extremely athletic, and as a younger prospect she was a big time producer with her past AAU team. As long as she is used in the correct ways and she is working this off-season on becoming the best version of herself, she could shine these next three years on the Varsity floor for the Mustangs.

makes this Potential Top 5 list like everyone because of her high ceiling moving forward and what I have seen out of her this past AAU season with
Beyond Ball
. Boens has a better than average mixture of size and skill for her age. She is a player that stands at around 5’11 with a guard like skill-set. In most situations, she has an advantage with her size and reach on her matchup. Will that size advantage continue on the high school floor? I’m going to say no but her skill-set will then have to take over to show everyone what she is really about. Overall Boens is a complete player, that works hard on both sides of the floor and doesn’t take any plays off. Her future is bright moving forward if she can make the right choices, in big moments, when she has the ball out there on the varsity floor. It’s important to be a great skill player but the best players, who play at a high college level, are great skill players AND they make the others around them better. I need to see that out of Boens before I can give her a nod to be on this Top 5 list of the 2027 class come December’s Update.

is a combo guard who can do it all! If she has to handle the ball against aggressive defense or play in the post she can do it. Also, she’s been playing up with
Beyond Ball
and continues to get better because she’s been playing against more experienced players. Urbandale High School is getting a player who can play in transition and make plays under pressure. I’m excited to see her succeed in High School basketball.

is another player that has displayed advance knowledge of the game of basketball from a young age. Boens is a 5’10/11 combo guard with the ability to grow into a really talented small forward. She has a nice handle, can shoot from all over the court, and isn’t afraid to catch it in the post with her back to the basket. This spring Boens is playing up for Beyond Balls 17U AAU team and holding her own. She has put up some big numbers, in some nice wins this season for that squad while showing she belongs. Keep an eye out for Boens name to pop up this winter. She is a hard worker, who is going to do everything she can to show she belongs in this 2027 Update.

Another impressive class of 2027 playing up and competing at a high level. Has great size for her age at the combo guard position while having an aggressive demeanor on the basketball court. Plays with intent and determination. The type of player that is going to be known all across the state of Iowa coming into her freshman year as she will be in the discussion for one of the top players in the state out of her class.

is a class of 2027 student playing at the 17U level for her
Beyond Ball
Program. You read that right, she is ending her eight grade year and competing at a high level against 17U players from all over the country. Boens is special. A player who has a promising future ahead of her on the court with the size and ability she possesses. She has incredible strength, coordination, and drive for her age while showing that she can compete with anyone on a high school floor already. By watching her game you would never know that she is in 8th grade. It would be more likely that you would assume that she would be an upperclassman. With all this being said, she hasn’t even scratched the surface of her game and play-making ability. At this rate, with everything I see, Boens is going to be a front runner for the top player in the 2027 class out of Iowa and maybe even a player who receives national recognition, rankings-wise, when it’s all said and done.
