Team 1 Analysis from The Expo

The Expo brought together over 70 players from the Classes of 2027 and 2028 at Seminole Sports Academy for a four-hour showcase before the start of their high school seasons. The event gave upperclassmen from across Florida another opportunity to compete, be evaluated, and get in front of college coaches, media, and scouts.   College coaches led the instruction throughout the event before players put what they learned into action during 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 competition. With the high school season right around the corner, The Expo provided a competitive setting for players to sharpen their game, show how they impact winning in live situations, and work on adapting with players they had little familiarity with. Here's a look at a really talented Team 1 who had great size and strong guard-play:    Lillian did a great job establishing position in the paint and using her strength around the basket. She showed good activity on the offensive glass with multiple putbacks and finished a drive by using her strength to create space for a layup. She showed the ability to step out for a 3 and also showed good feel on the screen-and-roll. Her frame, rim running, and mobility at her position will continue to make her a strong prospect in this 2028 class.     Maggie created offense off the dribble and found her teammates for assists throughout the day. She knocked down a corner 3 early on the move and also hit multiple 3s by getting her feet set and ready to shoot. She added a block on the defensive end and showed her versatility and ability to adapt well in this type of showcase setting.     Joba used a tough spin move to create space and score with ease at The Expo. She knocked down multiple 3s and drove the middle for buckets while consistently making her presence felt around the basket. She showed good timing as a shot blocker and challenged several shots around the rim by sending many of those out of the paint. Joba's frame, strength, and mobility at her position make her a threat on both ends of the floor at all times.     Micah showed good feel as a passer thoughout the event with her touch passes over the defense being very accurate. She made strong one-handed passes with her left hand and knocked down multiple three's when I was watching. Her game is unselfish, she does the little things, and she is always making her teammates look better with her effort and playmaking.     Cali did a nice job securing defensive rebounds and pushing the ball up the floor. She made a smart play in transition defense by reading the offense and coming away with a steal to create points from turnovers for her team. Her vision and passing were on full display with some of her accurate bounce passes and reads she made with the ball in her hands. Cali is shifty and showed a smooth release and rotation on her shot from deep.     Anaiyaa is a tough guard who played through contact for an and-one finish a couple times during the event. She used a hesitation move and a strong change of speed to create separation when attacking and scoring downhill, knocked down a wing 3, and made a nice drive-and-kick pass that led to another 3. One thing that really stood out was her willingness to feed her post players when they got position. Her quickness, handles, and ability to impact the game on both sides of the floor at every level makes Anaiyaa a lead guard you want guiding your team.     Sophia has a strong frame and gave her team a presence on the glass on both ends. She grabbed an offensive rebound for a putback early at The Expo to show her willingness to extend possessions. Shortly after that, Sophia made a nice pass before cutting to the basket to get behind her defender for a bucket. I was impressed with her willingness to crash the boards and be physical in the paint.     Jenna showed good vision and feel as a passer throughout The Expo, especially by rewarding her posts when they ran the floor. She made a controlled catch out of the pick-and-roll and did a good job using her physicality to create space while operating on two feet. Her spacing and movement without the ball stood out and put her and her teammates in better opportunities to score in the half court.
