Austin has been somewhat underrated over the last couple of years within the DC program because the individuals around her have been so talented but I expect Austin to take over this season as someone who can produce on both ends. We have watched Austin make several different plays throughout this Showcase. Offensively, she has gotten all the way to the hoop for tough finishes through traffic. She has also been really good in open space, getting to her spots for open looks at every offensive level. She understands where to go - when, demonstrating her situational awareness and when you pair that with her skill, you start to see the promise that could be at the Varsity level over the next two seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='1818969' first='Caylee' last='Dickey'] has better than average height for her SG position, muscle mass to pair along with it, a soft touch on the ball, and impressive coordination. When you mix all of those traits together, you get someone who could be a Varsity producer in some big ways throughout her high school career within the right system. Dickey has shown us that she can be placed at the 2, 3, or 4 out on the floor and she is going to standout no matter where she is at. If someone smaller wants to mess with her, she is not afraid of going to the basket until the defense decides to switch things up. Cedar Falls is going to be loaded within all of their high school rosters over the next few years and Dickey is in included in that bunch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1236287' first='Maeve' last='Moran'] might come into Linn-Mar High School for her Sophomore year and become their best player in a short amount of time. Moran, the skilled 5'11 CG, is versatile within her position and really on the floor in general. With her natural length she can stick to bigger matchups or she can latch onto a smaller Guard if need be. Offensively she mainly moves off of the ball as her team's main 3 or 4 but she can also play up to the 5 or down to the 2 in certain situations. When you pair that with some of the recruits that Linn-Mar already has on roster, you can imagine that they will win some tough contests this Winter. Moran did her thing during this event. As an adult, I think everyone growing up has had those moments in one thing or another where they had to go all-in. Pershing was one of our youngest players at this event and she held her own to a T. She made smart plays, handled against pressure brought on by Varsity prospects across the entire state, and she demonstrated that when she has the rock - she is the leader. She is the one who will control pace of play and she is the one that will get everyone in their correct spots via her high level communication. When you come to a high school event as a seventh grader and you handle your business like this - it says something. It says everyone better watch out because when I get to high school, I'm here for one reason and one reason only - that is to kill you on the hardwood. Plain and simple. Which is something I think everyone spectating, can respect.

This is five players that competed at our PGH Iowa Showcase to start the month, who will see the Varsity floor within the near future. Each individual named possesses the skill, mindset, and determination to make somethings happen at that level within the right opporunity.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
