We have highlighted Caylee Dickey a few times this Spring and for good reason. Dickey is a 5’10/5’11 SG/CG, that can also move into the Post position a majority of the time because of her natural size. When she gets onto the high school floor this Winter, I could see her moving around between the 2, 3, and 4 positions – depending what is being asked out of her. She is well rounded for her age and position, she has better than average length, and she is competitor. I won’t be shocked if this is someone we gets some college interest early on in her high school career. She already checks off a lot of boxes that coaching staffs would have and she is truly just starting off her Basketball career in a sense, so she is only going to get better.

I have a feeling that Caylee Dickey of Cedar Falls High School is going to be someone that we mention A LOT over her career and especially early on with the Tigers this Winter. Dickey is a 5’10 SG/CG with a natural ability when the ball is in her hands. Offensively, with her size and age level at the moment she can post up anyone smaller and finish over them but she is more of a natural guard than anything else. She likes to pass the ball to start the possession and then get it back near the bucket for a take down-hill on either side of the basket. Defensively, with her mixture of height and athletic ability, she can switch onto all positions she is facing at her age level but she will move to defend the 2, 3, or 4 primarily on the Varsity floor. I’m hoping we see Dickey compete a few times over this next month of High School ball. She should be in the rotation right away, making an instant impact but we will just have to wait to see.

Cedar Falls High School has some memorable players coming in these next few years to help them along the way. Someone in that category, who is going to be an impact prospect right away when she steps on the Varsity floor is Caylee Dickey. Dickey has that mixture of size, coordination, and ability that all coaches love to see at a younger age. She plays the game of basketball within her own pace while always being someone that can get a shot up as the shot clock is going to expire on the offensive end. She is going to be good for not only a few buckets per outing but for a handful of rebounds as well. Her natural length is going to give her an edge in that category and I’m sure she is going to use it.
