McLaughlin is one of the top prospects out of the 2028 Class at the PG position and overall, in general. Her ability to see the floor unfold in real time is next level. She knows how to reward her bigs for running their lane lines in transition and she understands how to control the pace of play of the game as a whole. She also has a strapped for an arm from distance. She knows how to let it fly and whenever she does - it looks like it's going to be a good attempt. Some lucky D1 program is going to get McLaughlin as a committee soon and whoever that is should be really excited for the future possibilities.

Bentley Dill, the High Point WBB commit from Cedar Rapids is looking to put together a memorable Winter season at the Varsity level over the next six months. Dill is extremely skilled within her own right. She plays the Guard position as a 1, 2, or 3 and no matter where she is at she is known as a producer on both sides of the ball. This Summer we saw Dill make her case as to why she is a really good PG. We have seen her for years now as a SG but this look gave us faith that should could play either at the D1 level with some success within the right system. As for now, she will hold onto the #7 spot in this Update as we walking into the season this next month.

The recruitment of Ella Subbert is about to pick up big time moving forward. Subbert, the 6'3 Forward, has a lot of possibilities as she progresses within this sport. She is a naturally talented Forward, that can dominate most matchups within her individual space. If someone is smaller than her she can attack the bucket or just shoot over the top. If someone is bigger, which is usually never the case, she can bring them out to the 3 point line and attack off of her movement as she cuts within her offense. I'm going to make the not so bold statement now that Subbert will be a D1 Forward by the time she commits. She is going to get a bunch of looks because of her new AAU team on the road next Spring and who knows what interest that might bring in.

I expect Valley High School to be a contender when it comes to the State Tournament out of their Class and a big reason for that is the prospects they will have on roster. One of those new prospects being Julia Van Keuren. Van Keuren is a solid 6'2 as a SF/PF, depending on who is placed around her at any given time. She can be your 4 or 5 with how well she can get down the court. If she is over pressured she can put the rock on the ground and get all the way into the teeth of the defense for a crafty finish and that's just the tip of the iceberg of what could be to come in the future. Van Keuren comes in at #9 in this Update with some room to keep moving up if she can show us something the next few months.

Sometimes when a prospect is really good, it sneaks up on you. You might not see it happening in real time but you notice by the end of the game that one player killed you on both offense and defense. Ava Smid of DCG is a prospect of that caliber. She has length, she isn't afraid of physicality, coordination, and a plays smart basketball as a whole. You never see her in foul trouble and that speaks to her discipline as a whole. Smid rounds us out at #10 in this Update, which is a respectable place out of a stacked Class when you really think about it.
