Everyone that is mentioned in this piece I would consider a Hooper With Size And Raw Skill overall within this game. Each player stands at over 5'11 and the each have demonstrated glipses of a lot of promise in the past while we have been watching.

Webster City's Evie Davis is a star within her own community as a Power Forward/Center on the basketball court. Davis is a hooper that has averaged impressive numbers over the years. She has averaged a double-double in points-rebounds ever since I can remember and that should be the case for her next two seasons as well if all goes to plan. This is a 6'1 prospect that mainly moves between the blocks. She is very able with her back to the basket against smaller matchups. There aren't many times where we see Davis undersized against someone bigger. When that does finally happen, I'm sure she will move right around them for simple looks here and there offensively. All in all - Davis has been a 2028 to know for years now for recruiters out of the Midwest. She plays some nice basketball and that's only going to get better with playing more as she continues to grow up.

Yar Kur might be someone we hear more and more about throughout this Winter as things progress towards the State Playoffs. Kur is a true 6'2 PF, who is still extremely raw within this game. She has demonstrated in the past that she runs the floor at a steady rate and she does possess a soft touch on the ball within specific situations. Kur didn't get any run on the Varsity level last year but I hope that changes these next few months. The more court time she can see, the quicker it might click in her head as an upperclassmen. You know what we say. You can't teach size like this and that's a reason why I like the promise she might be able to bring to the hardwood over the next two years.

It would not shock me if Melanie Pfab ended up committed to a NAIA, D3, D2, or even Juco program by the time that she is walking into her Senior season at Dubuque Senior High School. Pfab is an athletic 6'0 SF, that can move and produce between the 3, 4, or 5 positions. Offensively, she can be placed at each spot and she can thrive depending on where she is at. As the 3, she can attack from the outside or line up a shot if the defense decides to sag off. As the 4 or 5, she can move between the blocks and all around the paint with her back to the basket to make things happen within her own mismatches. On the flip side on defense it's the same type of situation. As the 3 she can stick with smaller guards and with the 4 or 5 she can wall up to be her team's big dawg out of the middle. All in all, Pfab is a mulitple sport athlete with a bright future ahead as a competitor.

13.8 PPG & 9.1 RPG. Those are the numbers that Cadance Shiflett averaged on the court last season as a Junior. What type of player is Shiflett you might ask. She is the type that took 229 shots last season, making 120 of those attempts while NOT taking a three pointer from deep once all Winter long. She is the killer in the middle that controls what is happening around her at all times. She is dominant on either block, going up through contact and she isn't afraid to let you know about it after the fact either. We have mentioned Cadance in the past a few times because of her impactful stat-lines she has posted and that should be the case once again this Winter as she tries to do her thing to prove everyone watching that she could compete at the next level. If she wants too.

Brailee Bremer was a constant on the boards last season. She will need to do that once again this Winter and I would also like to see her scoring step up now that most of their main producers from last season are gone due to graduation. Bremer has size. She just needs to the confidence to pair along with that size. Once she notices that she will be on the floor more this Winter, that should all fall into place. We are talking about a 6'0 PF within one of the smaller conferences out of the state so as long as she comes in hungry and her team has a game-plan together than it should be smooth sailing.
