Bump City Fall League Week 7

Maybe it's fall league fatigue but several teams were a no show this weeks games. The old adage that the show must go on applied as replacement teams were on standby ready to go. This Sunday's action pulled out some impressive performances and here are some of the players that were able to showcase their game.

I really enjoyed watching Amyah perform on Sunday. She is very fast with the ball a has a quirky shiftiness that is hard for defenders to gauge. Once she got in full stride no one could really stay in front of her to stop her from getting to the rim. She shot the ball well making several three pointers and on the defensive end she played with a lot of intensity and focus.

Eden looked polished on the floor. She was patient securing deep position in the post and there wasn't a player on the floor with the size and strength to contain her in the paint. She made a three pointer off the glass, this was the first time that I've seen her shoot from that range and showed a nice touch from around eight feet away from the basket. Her rebounds were kept high and out of harms way for the outlet pass. She had a solid game on both ends.

Emalee showed us a glimpse of the DMV basketball future. She had a good combination of size and athleticism and she got stronger as the game went on coming up with a big second half. She showed the willingness to use her left to finish when the opportunity was there and showed good hands to catch the lob pass over defenders for the catch and finish. The fact that she is just a 2032 going against high school aged players, shows a bright future in store.

Micheyla has a lot of confidence running the point as a sixth grader. She showed good range from the three with accuracy and a good form. Her ballhandling was solid and she was efficient leading the team despite being one of the youngest players on the floor. She attacks well getting into a soft floater when she gets to her spot.

Chloe had some quick drives making it to the basket to finish before help defense could arrive. She moved effortlessly as it didn't appear that she was going that fast until you saw the she was gapping the distance with the defenders. She is an under the radar player that could be a big score for a smart college coach that's paying attention to players off the grid.
