Top Maryland Post Players

The post players are the most sought after by college coaches but receive the least amount of love. Not the most glamorous as they need the ball to be given to them, however, they can affect the outcome of games and control the tempo and pace of the game. Here are some of the best that Maryland has to offer. Tegan possesses the size and physical tools to compete at the major Division I level. She demonstrates solid footwork in the paint and continues to expand her offensive arsenal with a developing variety of post moves. She is an effective rebounder who uses her size to establish position and finishes well around the basket. Despite her size, Tegan runs the floor well in transition, keeping pace with the action and creating scoring opportunities on the break. As her post game continues to develop, she has the potential to become an even more dominant presence in the paint. Adina is a steady and reliable presence in the paint who quietly makes her impact felt on both ends of the floor. Surrounded by the star-studded perimeter talent at Bullis, her contributions can sometimes go unnoticed. However, a closer look at the stat sheet reveals just how valuable she is, as the rebounds, second-chance opportunities, and putbacks steadily add up. She does much of the work that doesn't always grab the headlines, establishing position inside, battling on the boards, and capitalizing on opportunities around the basket. Adina's consistency and willingness to do the dirty work make her an important piece of the Bullis lineup. Vanessa possesses more of a wing frame and may ultimately project as a wing at the collegiate level rather than a traditional post player. However, her skill level in the paint simply cannot be overlooked. She is among the most fundamentally skilled interior players, utilizing an impressive variety of pivots, footwork, and ball fakes to create quality scoring opportunities. Her versatility allows her to attack effectively from the high post or wing, where her quickness gives her a significant advantage over virtually every traditional post defender she faces. She is relentless on the boards, consistently pursuing rebounds and creating second-chance opportunities. Vanessa is also an excellent finisher around the basket, combining her footwork, speed, and offensive instincts to score in a variety of ways. Her combination of interior skills and perimeter potential makes her an intriguing prospect as her game continues to develop. Charlee displays impressive agility and mobility for a player her size, bringing a unique combination of interior presence and perimeter skills to the floor. Her versatility becomes especially evident in transition, where she can secure a rebound, push the ball up the court, and navigate through defenders with surprisingly good ball-handling ability. She is particularly effective operating from the high post, where she can use her size and strength to attack off the dribble or confidently knock down the 13-foot jumper. Her combination of size, coordination, and developing offensive versatility makes her an intriguing prospect with the potential to impact the game from multiple areas of the floor. Carsyn turned in an impressive performance at The Challenge at Spooky Nook, making her presence felt on both ends of the floor. She displayed soft, reliable hands, securing several difficult passes in traffic and converting scoring opportunities around the basket. She used her body effectively to establish and maintain position in the paint, creating favorable angles to receive the ball and finish inside. Defensively, Carsyn provided a solid presence in the lane, protecting the paint and making opponents work for opportunities around the rim. Her combination of physicality, good hands, and interior awareness will make her a valuable contributor throughout the season.
