Making the Team and Making an Impact

Tryouts are here, and players across the area are ready to compete for a spot and establish their roles. For some, the goal is making the team. For others, it's earning more minutes, stepping into a leadership role, or putting together a breakout season. Plenty of talent came through at the recent Reps on Reps Media Day, and these players have the tools to make an impact this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='934748' first='Courtney' last='Owens'] played some inspiring ball during the fall league and really liked the way she competed on the floor/. Owens attacks the rim, can pass the ball, and can put the ball in the basket. Owens can also shoot the three-ball and is not shy about shooting gthe ball. Watching her play, you can tell that she is a person who leads on the floor. Owens will be right there with Smith, providing leadership on the floor. Owens is a selfless player with a great motor and a high basketball IQ. Of course, she is making the roster and definitely making an impact.

[player_tooltip player_id='1444822' first='Peyton' last='Edwards'] could be in for a breakout season. She can knock down the three and does a good job of spacing the floor, giving her teammates room to operate. Last season, she showed flashes, making tough shots in clutch situations. This year could be her coming-out party as she builds on her three-point shooting ability and continues to become a threat every time down the floor. Edwards is making the team, and she is poised to make an impact.

[player_tooltip player_id='400811' first='Elle' last='Deegan'] is making the roster, and she is making an impact this season by making lots of three-pointers all over the court. Deegan shares ball-handling duties, rebounding duties, and takes on a third of the scoring load for her team. There is no doubt that Deegan is making the roster and making an impact.
