You came to get noticed? Give the coaches something to remember! That's the opportunity players had at the Millsaps Women's Basketball Prospect Camp, and this group gave us plenty of names to keep watching.

Held September 20, 2026, from 1–4 p.m. at the Hanger Dome, the camp brought together prospects in grades 10–12 to work with head coach Jeff Wilbur and his staff. For these young ladies, it was a chance to bring their game into a college environment, compete with different players, and show what they could offer a program.

As a coach, I'm watching how a player earns her opportunities. Can she contribute when the ball isn't in her hands? Does she respond to instruction? Will she keep competing after a missed shot or a tough possession? Those details matter when you're trying to make a lasting impression.

“Making Plays, Earning Attention” speaks to that process. A bucket can get eyes on you, but your decisions, effort, and ability to help a team give coaches reasons to keep watching. Every possession offers another chance to show something valuable.

[player_tooltip player_id='1319174' first='Isabella' last='Cortes'] carried a strong summer into this event, attending on a special invite and backing up her Loyola camp showing with another strong performance at Millsaps. That continued momentum is what makes following a prospect's development exciting. You want to see players build on their opportunities, and she gave us another performance to discuss.

For the younger prospects, this experience also offered a look at the expectations inside a college gym. For the older players, it was another opportunity to make their preparation count in front of a coaching staff.

Keep getting in these gyms. Keep accepting the challenges. And when your opportunity comes, be ready to show your game!

Mariah McLaurin has the kind of game that fits “Making Plays, Earning Attention.” The 2027 Northwest Rankin guard brings a strong handle, creates opportunities for her teammates, and takes pride in making opponents work on defense. Her energy and competitive approach have earned recognition in previous scouting coverage, and that combination gives her several ways to contribute. prepgirlshoops.com As a coach, I value a guard who can get others involved and bring that same determination to getting a stop. That's what makes McLaurin an intriguing prospect. Scoring gets attention, but being able to run an offense, compete defensively, and help the players around you carries weight with coaches. Mariah has a foundation worth watching, and I'm looking forward to seeing where she takes her game next. Keep working, Mariah—give them more reasons to remember your name!

[player_tooltip player_id='1819007' first='Taia' last='Brown'] brings a scoring and playmaking combination worth watching in this Millsaps Prospect Camp group. Being able to find your own offense while keeping teammates involved gives you more ways to help a team, especially in a camp setting where players are learning to work together quickly. That's the connection to “Making Plays, Earning Attention” for Taia. Her scoring deserves a look, but her ability to contribute beyond the bucket makes her an interesting young prospect. Millsaps was an opportunity to put those tools in front of a college staff and continue building her game. Keep working, Taia—there's plenty to build on!

[player_tooltip player_id='1860403' first='Caeley' last='Upshaw']'s defense is where I start. The 5'7” Airline guard has quick hands, pressures the ball, and brings the hustle to turn a difficult possession for her opponent into an opportunity for her team. Offensively, she has a midrange jumper and the ability to attack the basket, giving her options when a defender closes the gap. Those are strengths I've highlighted in her game before. Prep Girls Hoops That combination makes her an interesting prospect in this Millsaps camp group. When I talk about “Making Plays, Earning Attention,” defensive pressure belongs in that conversation. A guard who can disrupt an offense and then contribute on the other end has value to a coaching staff. Caeley's willingness to compete is a foundation I like, and these opportunities put her developing skills in front of new eyes. Keep bringing that fight, Caeley—make every possession count!
