The Expo Top Players (Part 1)

I had the opportunity to attend the PGH Expo, a little over a week ago, and the talent at The Champion Center was off the charts! This week I will be going over who caught my eye as top players.

Christian, coming off of a fantastic Freshman season, where she averaged 12.5 points, 3.3 assists, and 6 steals per game, was one of my top players at The Expo! Smooth athlete whose explosiveness and overall feel for the game jumped out to me both in the 3-on-3 and 5-on-5. Showing a quick first step, and great handles, Christian was able to repeatedly get to the paint finishing consistently, in a plethora of ways, when not finding teammates with high IQ passes.

Hanson is another player that impresses me every time I get a chance to watch her. Possessing the type of motor, that every coach loves to see, Hanson competes non-stop, on both ends, never conceding anything to the opposition. Defensively she moves well, laterally, and uses very active hands to make life tough on whomever she is guarding. With the ball, Hanson is a dynamic three-level scorer consistently knocking down jumpers from 18+ feet when not finishing at the hoop.

Finger, coming off of a 10.9 ppg and 9.8 rpg freshman season, for Lena, was one of my top post players at The Expo. Strong and athletic, Finger's length caused mismatches all afternoon as the defense struggled to stop her around the hoop as well as on the glass. It is easy to be excited for Lena's upcoming season with Finger and fellow sophomore, 5-10 [player_tooltip player_id='1231054' first='Ella' last='Thomson'] returning for a team that only lost four games last season.

Krueger, as no surprise to me, was one of the top players at The Expo a couple of Sunday's ago. Confident ballhandler, Hanson commands the floor, gets to her spots with ease, and sets up her teammates for high percentage scoring opportunities. She also showed game changing ability both on the glass and defensively where she knows when to pick and choose her spots to shoot in for steals.
