Young Talent Prepares for Basketball Season in Lebanon, TN

Though this was just a preseason showcase, girls definitely looked primed and ready for the regular season. You could see that this offseason, kids had been working hard, getting right as the November 4th date gets closer and closer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A lot of times during the offseason, it's hard to not imagine what the upcoming season will be like. As a coach, fan, or player, you are oftentimes thinking how good so and so will be or how good that team will be. Maybe this is the year when you get over the hump. That's basketball ladies and gentlemen. Endless possibilities of what may or may not happen. Where I am going with that last statement is that the young guns who showed up to this showcase, would definitely be some kids you would dream about. How would they affect or add value to the program? How do these kids coming in would shape the landscape of the district? She was knocking it down at a consistent clip from the arc. When it came to the defensive side of the ball, she was solid, getting stops left and right, slowing down any set offense. She was displaying amazing court awareness, disrupting the timing and shutting down gaps. She held her own on the defensive side, keeping her opponent in front, forcing them to make tough decisions or shots. She was nice in transition, hitting teammates in stride, knowing when to attack the basketball. She had a good showing in both 3v3 and 5v5. The kid is hungry and I loved how she wasn't backing down from any upperclassmen. Look for her to gain even more confidence and when she does, she will launch herself into many conversations for the rest of her career. Big wing who can shoot from the perimeter, but has an attacking mindset and will get downhill. She was big on the boards on both ends of the floor. She was solid on D. Back to the offensive side of the ball, when she felt like her team needed a bucket, she stepped up and did just that. She just gets things done. This kid is a go-getter, it doesn't matter what end of the floor she was on. She was active on D, going toe-to -toe with some pretty good upperclassmen. She displayed slick handles, nice passes, and knocked down shots on 3 levels of the floor. She is a fearless kid and as her body of work continues to grow, look for her to shoot up the charts as she is someone to keep your eyes on. Has a nice shooting stroke from the arc. High basketball IQ. Plays each and every possession like it's her last on both sides of the ball. The kid showed toughness and tenacity as she went up against stiff competition. She held her own and contributed in multiple categories. She's fearless and wasn't afraid to get down and battle with upperclassmen.
