Coalfield Lady Yellow Jackets: Rising Stars of 1A Basketball

They did a quick rebuild and are not in conversations of winning the district. Last year this club was 2-19 overall. To the standards of those around, obviously that wasn't good enough. Insert some new blood into the program with a winning pedigree, now the team looks a little different. They have it all: speed, size, girls who can knock it down from the arc, girls who can finish inside, girls who defend, they have it all and then some. They can go 3 deep off the bench and not miss a beat.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Lady Yellow Jackets are a super tough squad. This season so far they are 4-3, 1-0 in the district. Their losses were against Cleveland, York Institute, Clarkrange, teams that will be up for state contention. Talk about being battle tested, these young ladies are preparing to make a district run and then onto the playoffs. With their talented roster and balanced attack, these girls get after it every possession. They have solid senior leadership and a good core of young pups that will provide them with a sustainable future. Offensively, she is a sharpshooter from the arc. When her feet are set, she's deadly from the outside. Has the ability to put it on the floor and finish, however, when her team needs a bucket, they dial her number up. Her defense becomes her offense quickly, this too provides a spark for the Lady Yellow Jackets. You can tell she is out there having fun just by the movements and adjustments she makes throughout the course of the game. She's a gamer who will definitely continue to grow into a solid prospect from the east side of the state.
