<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In front of a packed house at Portsmouth High School, the Trojans kept their unbeaten season alive and sealed the OVC title with a 47-35 victory over Fairland in our Prep Girls Hoops Ohio Game of the Week. The game pitted several next-level kids on the court and the two Ohio Division 5 powerhouse programs now prepare for the postseason after one more week of regular season games.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Key to the Game-</strong> Portsmouth's defense was too much for Fairland, as their pressure and athleticism took the Dragons right out of their game. Coming in, Portsmouth averaged over 60 points per game and Portsmouth held them to just a bit above half of that total. She took key shots in the first quarter, and even though she did not knock them down early in this game, she's very capable as she showed later with a double-figure performance.  Hit a huge bank three point to bring Fairland back to within two.  She showed out!! She will be headed to Georgetown (KY) next season to play her college basketball and will be a gem in that conference. She can score, but what she brings is a good leadership and grit to get done whatever needs to get done. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Battle of the Best- </strong>Anytime [player_tooltip player_id='520305' first='Sienna' last='Allen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='481365' first='Addison' last='Godby'] meet on the court, it would be wise to have some college coaches on the baselines to watch this iconic matchup. Both are among the top players in Ohio, and add in [player_tooltip player_id='481371' first='Bailey' last='Russell'], another top 25 junior in Ohio, you better buckle in! Allen showed how to take over a game with 17 points and nearly a double-double. Very smooth and can score in all three phases of the game.
