War Games: Underclassmen Ball Handlers

Insider Exposure hosted the War Games this past weekend in Charlotte, NC where teams from across the southeast came to compete against one another as the travel season really begins to ramp up.  There were many standouts from the event, but this article focuses primarily on the underclassmen ball handlers that were making their names known.    [player_tooltip player_id='690093' first='Gigi' last='Lyons'] showed off her range shooting the ball, and she had a nice step back move to knock it down.  She stripped the ball from her opponents and took it the other direction for fast break points.  She did well grabbing rebounds on defense and knowing when to speed up the tempo or slow things down.     [player_tooltip player_id='772531' first='Kennedy' last='Moore'] had some tough takes to the basket scoring through contact making the old fashioned three point play.  She was quick on the court using her speed to grab some steals getting the possession again for her team, and she used that to get into the paint for two.  She had some nice range with her shot, too, hitting a clutch shot late in the second half regaining the lead for her team.      KB Brown (Team KMA Kent 2026) showed off her handles using her hesitation moves to get by her defender and score some points.  Her arsenal of moves is certainly fun to watch as a spectator knowing she will be losing her defenders making plays for herself off the dribble or making the pass.  She is aggressive on defense, too, being able to strip the ball away from her opponents and push it up the court.     [player_tooltip player_id='772552' first='Leena' last='McField'] was doing well handling the ball pushing the tempo and finding her open teammates on fast breaks.  She also did a nice job picking the pocket of her opponents grabbing steals and finding ways to score off of these turnovers.  She can score through contact without problems making it at the rim.     [player_tooltip player_id='1120329' first='Sophie' last='Montana'] (Team KMA Carter 2027) showed off her quickness and her handles to get to the rim putting in the work to get the opening.  She has a nice reverse layup that she can use when she attacks the basket and needs to make an adjustment to score.  She did well tying up the ball on defense getting the jump ball or taking the possession all together.  She can knock it down from deep, too, hitting six in a game first thing in the morning.
