The May Live Period begins this Friday. In the second live period of the year, teams from Wisconsin will play in Alabama, Minnesota, Iowa, and maybe elsewhere too. Throughout the week, we'll highlight some kids for coaches to watch around the country during the second live period of the AAU season. Today, we'll start with some 2026s.

The Oregon wing is a talented kid who hasn't come close to her ceiling. Schoenecker makes the offensive end of the floor look easy. The Panther can get to the rim and finish through traffic with both hands. She has the size, footwork, and skill to make plays against any defense she plays against. She earned some offers from programs after the April live period, and I suspect there'll be more eyes on her for this coming live period.

The Wisconsin Dells native is a skilled forward who may be the best passer in the 2026 class. Backhaus recently reopened her recruitment and will head into the May Live Period as someone who coaches should watch. She hasn't probably gotten seen much because she had committed, but if scholarship programs are looking for a kid who can play with her back to the basket, score at multiple levels, and pass at an elite level, Backhaus is worth your time.

Love's quickness at the point of attack opens up the game for her four teammates. Love demands so much attention with the ball, and when she's at her best, Love can create shots each time down the floor. The Dominican guard can score in bunches and has won games for her team because she can put the ball in the basket. Being a scholarship isn't easy, but Love has the talent and the skill to do it. Her speed, ability to score, and create are all traits that will play at the next level. She may not be a physically imposing player, but she's a playmaker.

The Wauwatosa native is a do-it-all type of player. The 2026 graduate shot the ball well in her junior season, made plays at the rim, and was an excellent connector for what the Red Raiders did on the offensive end of the floor. Sellinger is a skilled kid with the ball in her hands and can make plays off the dribble. She's a selfless kid who wants to make plays for others and can play at the high post and reward cutters with passes that lead to layups for her teammates. The Tosa East wing may not always be someone you notice on stat sheets, but what she does leads to wins.
