Remember My Name Showcase: Standouts Pt. 1

On June 1st, the Remember My Name showcase presented by Area Codes Basketball took place at Skyline Prep High School in Phoenix. The event showcased a substantial amount of next-level talent for the college coaches in attendance.   Here, I take a look at some of the standouts:    Bogan-Jacobs came out and asserted herself on both ends of the court against older competition. On offense, she got into the paint repeatedly and dropped off some beautiful assists. On defense, she showed quick hands and good timing. Voted the most outstanding player of the event.     Carr came out from Vegas and put in work. She is a fundamentally sound guard who doesn't get rattled easily. She never forced the action offensively. She was particularly effective from the mid-range, where she was able to shoot over smaller defenders. She is one of the top Juniors in Nevada.     Noelle has a game that continues to evolve nicely. She demonstrated a well-rounded combination of offensive and defensive skills. She was able to get downhill often, as well as hit some corner threes, which have become a weapon in her arsenal. On defense, she was disruptive with her athletic ability and energy.     America is a scorer deluxe, and she had moments where she seemed like she couldn't miss. If she wasn't out leading the fast break, she was pulling jumpers from well behind the three-point line. Her quick release made it difficult for defenders to get a feel of what she was going to do.     Flowers came out and overpowered whoever tried to guard her. Her ability to put the ball on the floor and get the defenders backpedaling was a thing of beauty. When she wasn't bullying defenders, she showed off her improved outside jump shot. She picked up an offer not long after the event.     Richardson continued to demonstrate why she is one of the fastest-rising prospects in her class in the state. She played at an excellent pace and wisely picked her spots when to be aggressive. She was one of the better passers at the event.     The versatile forward approached the games with a business-like demeanor. She showed off her ability to put the ball on the floor and go by defenders. Deja also showed that she knows how to use her body and keep defenders off balance. She has a soft touch from the mid-range, which is also a weapon of hers.     Nelly came out and played as she usually does. She was aggressive in the open court and shot it well from the perimeter. On defense, her foot speed allows her to hound ball handlers and force turnovers. There's not much not to like about Nelly's game. She is what a coach wants in a point guard.
