For the second week in a row, there is a new #1 player in an Arkansas class ranking. [player_tooltip player_id='593261' first='Syniah' last='Coachman'] had previously been the top-ranked player in the 2027 class, but Miciah Fusilier had overtaken her for the top spot in the previous ranking updates. Fusilier recently announced that she would be transferring to IMG Academy, an elite prep school in Bradenton, Florida, that develops top talent from around the country in a variety of sports. With that being said, Fusilier is no longer ranked, because she is no longer in Arkansas, and now Coachman is back in the top spot.

Of course, that was not the only dramatic movement in this ranking, so let us take a look at the new top 10 of the 2027 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='593261' first='Syniah' last='Coachman'] is having a very good summer so far. Her offer sheet was already impressive, but over the last couple of months, she has put herself in the conversation as one of the best guards in the United States, and colleges are taking notice.

West Virginia just offered Coachman back on the 2nd. She had picked up offers from Mississippi State, SMU, Arkansas, Wichita State, Hawaii, Ole Miss, Alabama, Houston, and Michigan State as well. Coachman is already ranked #51 in the ESPN Women's Hoop 2027 ranking.

Coachman is a unicorn for a point guard. She is hard to stop with her 5'10" frame, especially when she attacks the basket. She can finish up and over the defense with ease, and she can hit jumpers with a hand in her face. She can also make plays for others, always making sure her teammates are involved in the game plan.

[player_tooltip player_id='593261' first='Syniah' last='Coachman'] is a solid defender, earning a 6A all-defense selection in addition to her all-conference and all-state selections. She is the whole package, and the Lady Bulldogs are glad she is on their team. Keep an eye on Coachman, as I am sure she will continue to pick up more offers shortly.

[player_tooltip player_id='1090347' first='Traniyah' last='Weston'] is not the highest riser in this ranking, but her rise is one of the most notable, moving into the #2 spot from the #4 spot.

I got to watch Weston this past season as I was the play-by-play commentator for Little Rock Central basketball. She was great in their first meeting of the season, but she played even better in their second meeting. Weston consistently showed poise under pressure, giving teammate Samyah Jordan much-needed relief in initiating the offense.

Weston can hit outside shots, but she is deadly when she is able to find a crease in the defense and attack the basket. Conway's star guard has great court vision, being able to find cutters and open shooters, even in traffic. She is also a devastating defender, forcing turnovers left and right, wreaking havoc against any opponent.

[player_tooltip player_id='1090347' first='Traniyah' last='Weston'] is no longer playing with the AAU club All Arkansas Red; she is now with Team ISO, and she is balling out. If she continues to do so, she will have more than her UAPB offer.

Springdale Har-Ber has the state's best twin duo, and that is saying something because there are some great sister duos in Arkansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='1090299' first='Makenlie' last='Campbell'], the first of the sisters, has been an amazing player on both ends of the floor. If the defense leaves her open along the perimeter, she will hit the outside shot, thanks to a smooth shooting stroke and a quick release. If the defense gives her a lane to the basket, she will drive down the lane and finish.

On the defensive end, Campbell often guards one of the best opposing perimeter players. Her sister is also a formidable player, so seeing them on the defensive end is frightening, especially knowing that they can easily swipe the ball away and score in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='1090299' first='Makenlie' last='Campbell'] already holds an offer from Wichita State, but I bet she picks up more offers during the upcoming season.

It is sometimes hard to believe that though Earle is a 1A school, it has two players in the top 5 of their class: Jada Maples at #2 in the 2026 class and now [player_tooltip player_id='1091190' first='Journey' last='Jefferson'] at #4 in the 2027 class.

Jefferson was an incredible scorer during the 2024-25 season, but she is turning heads with her defensive play. She does not give up on any play, diving on the floor after loose balls and looking to chase down her opponent if they somehow beat her along the perimeter.

Jefferson has also proven that she can draw charges at a high level. For the opposition, it is an annoyingly high level, and I imagine she will carry over her success with that into the next season with Earle.

I have talked about how good of a scorer [player_tooltip player_id='1091190' first='Journey' last='Jefferson'] is in the past, but looking at her recent highlights, her defense has been most impressive. Earle's other star guard is making her presence known on both ends of the floor.

With a young roster returning next season, Elmore and company are back to attempt to win the title a second time.

Elmore picked up offers from Arkansas Tech and Missouri Southern State about a month after her sophomore season concluded, but she made headlines once she picked up her first Division I offer from Central Arkansas.

Elmore is a great scorer who can hit any look from three and mid-range that she sees. If there is an open lane to the basket, Elmore will not hesitate to drive and finish through the teeth of the defense. She can also create her shots and create shots for others.

[player_tooltip player_id='1093288' first='Greenlee' last='Elmore'] can hit every shot, finish with both hands, and do whatever it takes to win.
Even after just two seasons of varsity basketball, [player_tooltip player_id='848699' first='Bailey' last='Barton'] has proven to be one of the best players in the 5A classification, and also one of the best players to step on whatever AAU court she is on.

Barton is an outstanding shooter who can get going quickly. Whether she is shooting from three or mid-range, every good look she gets is a guaranteed basket. As a point guard, Barton recognizes the importance of facilitating, and she has shown that she is a phenomenal floor general, consistently finding open teammates and getting passes through tight spaces.

Barton is also a dangerous player to have guarding you along the perimeter. She plays with active hands, forcing multiple turnovers a game. If there is a pass or a handle within her reach, that ball is hers, and she is immediately looking down the court to push the pace.

[player_tooltip player_id='848699' first='Bailey' last='Barton'] is already a fantastic point guard, but her potential is through the roof. She is one of several great players returning to Beebe next season, so they are immediately a 5A title contender.

[player_tooltip player_id='1090312' first='Madisen' last='Campbell'] is the other Campbell sister, and there are plenty of reasons why she is positioned at #7 in this class.

Campbell is coming off a great sophomore season where she earned all-conference and all-defense selections. Those awards are not surprising, especially not the all-defense selection, considering how I believe she could be the best perimeter defender in the 6A classification.

Campbell plays with an intensity that is hard to find. This intensity is not out of control, but it helps her become a menacing defender, applying constant pressure against opposing guards. Like many great defenders, she can steal passes and strip ball-handlers, but she is one of the best in the state at moving laterally and keeping her assignment in front of her.

[player_tooltip player_id='1090312' first='Madisen' last='Campbell'] is truly a remarkable defender while also being a great inside-outside offensive threat. The Campbell twins make Har-Ber a true contender in the 6A classification.

[player_tooltip player_id='1093280' first='Randi' last='Stewart'] was also a part of the great Pulaski Academy squad that only lost one game. Like Elmore, she is back for more, and she is ready to finish the season with a chip.

Stewart showed up and showed out during the Lady Bruins' playoff run. She scored 21 points and recorded 3 rebounds and 3 steals in the game against Arkadelphia. Stewart had an impressive performance in the championship as well, posting 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

Pulaski Academy's other star guard is long and athletic, making her a difficult player to go up against on both ends of the floor. She can reach and poke balls free while also intercepting passes and running out in transition. On offense, she can hit catch-and-shoot jumpers with ease.

Wilburn has already eclipsed 1,000 career points in just two varsity seasons, and she averaged 19.5 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.3 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game in 2024-25. Rector's superstar is a dynamic scorer who can hit contested jumpers and finish through contact.

On the defensive end, Wilburn can play the passing lanes, coming away with steals every outing, but she is at her best protecting the rim. Though Wilburn is a guard, her 5'10" frame instantly makes her one of the tallest players on Rector's roster, which meant she had to guard forwards and centers. She succeeded time and time again, establishing herself as a legitimate shot blocker.

[player_tooltip player_id='877661' first='Rylee' last='Wilburn'] continues to improve seemingly by the minute. She has flown up the rankings over the last few updates, and I doubt her rise will stop anytime soon.

Collins had a great sophomore season with Bergman, earning all-conference, all-state, all-region, and all-tournament honors, as well as being selected as a 3A all-star by Arkansas PBS. Collins averaged 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals a night during the 2024-25 season, but I imagine she starts to average close to 20 points during her junior year.

Collins is electric when she has it going. She can hit every look from three, and she is not afraid to drive through defenders and get to the basket. She can create shots with ease thanks to her solid handles, making defenders lose their balance and lose sight of their defensive assignment.
