Day 2: Seniors Who Stood Out at Roses Classic

For those prospects between their Junior and Senior high school years, July marks a crucial time in their recruitment, as it is the last time they will play in front of this many college coaches at once, giving them one last opportunity to stand out. As for this year's 2026 class, after two days they seem to really be taking advantage, with most 2026s playing with great effort and showing off their skillsets. Below is a look at eight 2026s from Day 2's action who stepped up when I had the chance to see them in action.   .    I've obviously seen Myah a number of times over the last few years, and each year she has added a new piece to her game. The University of Louisville recruit looked as physical as ever Friday morning, especially when attacking the basket. She was seeking contact, drawing contact, and earned repeated trips to the free throw line. She was also assertive on the boards and used her length productively at the defensive end of the floor.     I've always enjoyed watching Grace play, and I'm impressed with how much leaner and more mobile she looks this year. She is a versatile forward who can battle inside, rebound, and defend, but she also has some perimeter skill. She can push in transition, knock down a rhythm 3-pointer, and she has good vision and a natural feel for the game. She has really nice length, can defend multiple positions, and I think could be a nice inside-out college recruit.     Friday was my first time seeing Grace, and I feel like she is someone who a lot of the Midwestern small colleges might like. She has nice length, a fluidness to her game, and she is a very good lefty shooter who can knock down multiple shots from the perimeter if she has any space/time. I need to see more of her to figure out if she can be a point guard at the next level, but she did a nice job of using her length to disrupt her opponent defensively.     Valencia is a talented athlete with great length, speed & quickness, plus a lot of bounce in her game. She was originally at Culver Academy as a Freshman & Sophomore, but as a Junior she transferred to Hammond Central. In the past, there were times where she fulfilled a double-double, interior rebounder/defender type of role, but recently she has been a true wing, handling it and shooting it from the perimeter, plus she can defend guards or wings.     Ruby has always been a productive wing prospect. She is strong, physical, and aggressive. She is a willing rebounder who will get inside and attack the glass, plus she's strong enough to defend bigger players inside as well. Offensively, she has really nice touch, she can knock down the 3-pointer, plus she is a North/South attacker who can absorb contact and finish inside. I feel like she could be a productive small college wing/forward as well.     Friday was the first time I have seen Anna play, and I'll say this about her, she was one of the most effortful players I saw all day long. She ran the floor hard, crashed the boards aggressively at both ends of the court, and never seemed to stop moving. She might be more of a wing, I haven't seen enough of her, but she looked most comfortable at about 15-feet offensively. She was also so good around the paint, that I wouldn't want to move her.     Arianna is the second non-Indiana prospect on this list, simply because she flashed outstanding potential. She is an athletically built, long, fluid, smooth, and bouncy wing. She showed touch outside, the ability to attack and change directions in traffic, plus she competed and had really nice all-around athleticism. At 6-feet tall, if she plays this way consistently, I can absolutely see her as a mid-major Division I prospect. She is definitely talented and skilled.     Despite having her ranked for a while, I don't hear enough people talk about Raven or her potential. She is a long, athletically built, somewhat fluid, and bouncy frontline prospect. She is best at the defensive end of the floor right now, and she had an impressive block that she went up to get when I saw her. However, she has nice touch from the mid-post, and she is developing more confidence on the low block. As that skillset comes around, watch out!
