Kniyah Godfrey and other rising 2028 prospects should see May as a big month as it offers a prime opportunity to separate from the pack. Godfrey brings length, athleticism, speed, and strengths in offensive rebounding, transition play and finishing at the rim. She is the kind of player who creates opportunities through effort and activity. With a strong showing in May, she can boost her stock and position herself as one of the most impactful young players in the 2028 class.

KK is an athletic lefty with good size and length which gives her a strong physical profile for her position. She is very bouncy and elevates at a high level, which shows up both as a rim protector with big-time blocks and as a finisher who can score with either hand. Around the basket, KK uses that explosiveness to rise up and finish through traffic. She also adds value by being able to step out and knock down shots from any level.

is shaping up to be a serious prospect in the 2028 class and look for her to be a fast mover up the rankings. She is long, athletic, and extremely active on both ends of the floor. She makes plays in transition, rebounds well, blocks shots, and gets off the floor quickly. Godfrey already shows a soft touch around the rim and plays with nonstop energy. She consistently gives maximum effort and impacts the game defensively and offensively. As her skill set continues to catch up with her physical tools, she projects to be a force over the next couple years.

Kniya jumps nearly 40 spots in the rankings after a stretch of performances that highlighted her high ceiling and growing impact. Her long, athletic frame stands out immediately, as she uses length and timing to control the paint, block shots, and consistently alter attempts around the rim. Extremely active on the glass—especially offensively—she creates second-chance opportunities and runs the floor hard in transition, putting constant pressure on defenses. Her length and athleticism create mismatches for smaller guards, while flashes of a developing mid-range game and a smooth stroke from deep show her expanding offensive arsenal. With a major role at Bloomingdale this season, her confidence and consistency are trending upward.

She is very active on the glass, especially on the offensive end where she creates second-chance opportunities for her team. Her length and athleticism make her a mismatch for smaller guards as she can shoot over them or attack space effectively. Kniya runs the floor hard and fast in transition which puts pressure on the defense. She also shows a smooth, reliable stroke from deep that allows her to spread the floor and add value as a perimeter threat. KK will be a definite stock riser in the next rankings update.

showcased flashes of young dominance during the Tampa Bay Invitational. Godfrey made splash plays and as she gets older she will be even more consistent. Godfrey controlled the paint for a large portion of the games and sent many shots into the stands. Godfrey attacked the basket and made plays at the rim. She showed flashes of a mid-range game and she will be even more of a problem when she starts knocking the mid-range shots down on a more consistent basis.

missed last season due to injury but has come back with a vengeance. At a summer camp we attended, she showcased her athleticism and her ability to knock down short and mid-range jumpers, handle the ball with control, and finish strong at the rim. It’s evident that as she continues to regain her confidence, she’ll become even more efficient. With a major role at Bloomingdale this season, I foresee her finding that confidence early and potentially emerging as the leading scorer for the defending state champions.

Kniya is the younger sister of K’Nisha Godfrey who was a Top 50 recruit that went to Mississippi State before transferring to TCU for 3 seasons and is now at UF. She’s a bit taller and has more length than her sister did. Bloomingdale is the defending State Champion in their classification, and Kniya may have to step into a big role after the Bulls lose a lot of talent to graduation and transfer. Her athleticism and skillset from the mid-range and at the rim will be a big factor in Bloomingdale’s success this year.

impressed with her play as well as her leadership off the court. She is a confident young player has the “it” factor. On the floor she was dominant and combined power, agility, and speed. Her ability to score on the inside was impressive and she had the ability to hit the short jumper. Godfrey showcased good ball handling skills and can get to the rim and score against pressure.
