We had over 60 members of the class of 2029 come to Louisville yesterday to participate in our annual Freshman Showcase. While I was stationed on one court nearly the entire time, I did not get to see every player who came to camp. These are the top players that I was able to evaluate myself.

I didn't know Kyah is an 8th grader until a couple of days after the event and that makes her even more impressive to me. Curtsinger is lightning quick with the ball and showed off a strong skill level and was able to finish with both hands consistently. In her second game of the day, Kyah hit multiple step back threes and showed some high level passing ability. I'm interested to see where she eventually ranks in the 2030 rankings in a year or so.

Reagan was both quick and fast with the ball in her hands despite the heavy knee brace she is still sporting from her injury last year. Clem was able to get past defenders all day long with her high level ballhandling and didn't force jumpshots despite the camp setting. As a willing passer and good ball handler, Reagan looks like a top freshman in the 13th region.

Deener was, in my opinion, the best player at camp and likely the best player in the 2029 class in Kentucky. Kennedy is great in the open floor and can score on about anyone. She's a good passer and often played off the ball on Saturday because there were so many guards in the camp. Kennedy could not be stopped from getting into the paint and she never seemed like she was forcing offense for herself. The games looked easy for her!

There were only a couple of true post players at camp and Justice excelled all day long on Saturday. She was able to finish over either shoulder on the block and showed potential as a pick and roll option, especially when the passes were good and not thrown at her feet. Lane will need to keep improving lateral foot speed in order to be switch-able on defense. She's certainly a name to track, long term.

We had several out of state players who came to Louisville on Saturday and Camille was very impressive to me. She's at her best when she's attacking the rim but she also showed she can knock down open 3s (her shot has a crazy amount of arch on it). I suspect Thomas will be a top freshman in the Nashville area this year and I'd be interested to see how she progresses if she makes the trip to more PGH Kentucky events in the future.
