This past Saturday, September 20th, Prep Girls Hoops hosted another high-level showcase for juniors and seniors at the Farmers Bank Fieldhouse in Lebanon, Indiana. The event brought together top talent from across the state featuring players from Northeast, Northwest, Central, and Southern Indiana for a day filled with competitive drills and live action. Participants went through skill-based segments such as the 5-man weave before transitioning into 3-on-3 play and full 5-on-5 games. The showcase environment provided athletes with a platform to demonstrate their abilities in front of evaluators and college coaches. Several players stood out with strong performances, setting themselves apart through skill, effort, and consistency. Below, we highlight some of the top guards, wings, and post players who made a lasting impression throughout the day.

[player_tooltip player_id='567128' first='Ahniyah' last='Bennett'] made her presence felt throughout the Junior and Senior Showcase with a combination of athleticism, competitive spirit, and two-way playmaking. From start to finish, she displayed an advanced ability to create offense both for herself and for her teammates while showing she can impact the game on the defensive end as well. Bennett is a well-rounded guard with the tools to make an immediate impact at the next level. Her blend of scoring ability, defensive presence, and unselfish playmaking gives her value in any system. As she continues to refine her jumper and decision-making in half-court sets, she has the potential to be a highly effective two-way player capable of leading her team on both ends of the floor. Offensively, Bennett thrives with the ball in her hands. She consistently looks to attack defenders off the dribble, using a strong first step and confident ball-handling to get into the paint. Beyond just scoring, she demonstrates a strong feel for the game in transition, where she excels at reading the floor, advancing the ball quickly, and making timely passes to set up teammates in scoring positions.

[player_tooltip player_id='751070' first='Izzy' last='Like'] emerged as one of the standout guards of the showcase, consistently demonstrating a high-level skill set and basketball IQ. She attacks the rim with creativity and confidence, showing the ability to change speeds and directions to get past defenders. Beyond her scoring ability in transition, Izzy is a reliable shooter in the half-court, capable of stretching defenses and creating space for herself and teammates. Her quickness and anticipation allow her to push the pace effectively, finishing strong at the rim in fast-break situations. Defensively, she competes with energy and discipline, hustling on both ends of the floor and making impactful plays throughout the day. Izzy combines speed, skill, and determination, marking her as a guard who can influence the game in multiple ways.

Anyone who watches Elyssa play is immediately impressed by her impact on the court. An athletic forward with versatility and skill well beyond her years, she is a player who deserves more recognition in Indiana. Elyssa possesses exceptional hands and explosive leaping ability, whether securing rebounds, finishing at the rim, or contesting shots on the defensive end. She shows excellent footwork against players her size, demonstrating both strength and finesse, but what truly stands out is her ability to score effectively on both sides of the basket and in transition. Her offensive repertoire is diverse—she can score with her back to the basket using solid post moves, face up and drive past defenders, or step out and hit mid-range shots with confidence. Beyond her physical tools and skills, Elyssa impresses with her leadership, work ethic, and communication. Elyssa projects as one of the top forwards in the Class of 2027 and a cornerstone for Pike, with the potential to make an immediate impact at the varsity level. Her combination of athleticism, skill, basketball IQ, and leadership positions her to be a standout player for years to come, and she is a name that should be on the radar of every college program in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='1256524' first='Nina' last='Whitehead'] is a lightning-quick guard who makes an immediate impact on both ends of the floor. Her speed and agility allow her to blow past defenders, create scoring opportunities for herself, and generate open looks for her teammates. She combines this athleticism with smart scoring instincts, strong defensive awareness, and a competitive drive that consistently elevates everyone around her. Throughout the showcase, Nina was one of the standout performers, showing a rare combination of skill, speed, and court intelligence. Her competitiveness is contagious—she pushes herself hard in every drill and every possession, which motivates her teammates to elevate their own play. Entering her senior year at North Central, Nina is poised to be a cornerstone of the program. Her combination of speed, skill, leadership, and basketball IQ makes her a dynamic player who can impact the game in multiple ways. She is not only a scoring threat and defensive presence but also a floor general capable of guiding her team to success. [player_tooltip player_id='1256524' first='Nina' last='Whitehead'] is a player to watch this season, and her continued growth could make her one of the top senior guards in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='751076' first='Jayla' last='Miller'] displayed a number of impressive skills throughout the showcase, with her ability to get out to the wings and stay ahead of defenders being one of the most notable. She consistently put herself in positions to score, showing excellent court awareness and the ability to read the defense to find open space. During the 5-on-5 sessions, Jayla's shooting was particularly impressive her consistency from mid-range, including 15-foot jump shots, and from beyond the arc, makes her a reliable scoring option in multiple areas of the floor. In addition to her scoring ability, Jayla demonstrated strong off-the-ball movement, making smart cuts and finding open spots for her teammates. As a recent transfer to Lawrence North, Jayla brings not only skill but also experience and a winning mindset that can immediately benefit her new team. Her competitiveness and basketball IQ make her a player who can step into a leadership role, mentor younger teammates, and contribute to team success right away. Entering the season, [player_tooltip player_id='751076' first='Jayla' last='Miller'] has the tools, experience, and drive to be a key contributor and a scoring threat for Lawrence North, making her a player to watch this year.
