Every time I watch Jayla play, she brings an exciting level of energy to the court. One thing that really stands out and something college coaches are quickly going to recognize is her ability to catch fire from the perimeter and consistently knock down shots. When she gets going, she can change the momentum of a game in a hurry.
Beyond her scoring, Jayla also brings strong defensive energy, which adds to her overall impact and makes her even more fun to watch. She competes on both ends of the floor and plays with a motor that doesn’t go unnoticed.
She is an underrated 2027 guard who is poised to make a lot of noise this spring and summer. Recently, she picked up her first collegiate offer from the Minnesota North College–Vermilion women’s basketball program, and it likely won’t be her last.

displayed a number of impressive skills throughout the showcase, with her ability to get out to the wings and stay ahead of defenders being one of the most notable. She consistently put herself in positions to score, showing excellent court awareness and the ability to read the defense to find open space. During the 5-on-5 sessions, Jayla’s shooting was particularly impressive her consistency from mid-range, including 15-foot jump shots, and from beyond the arc, makes her a reliable scoring option in multiple areas of the floor. In addition to her scoring ability, Jayla demonstrated strong off-the-ball movement, making smart cuts and finding open spots for her teammates. As a recent transfer to Lawrence North, Jayla brings not only skill but also experience and a winning mindset that can immediately benefit her new team. Her competitiveness and basketball IQ make her a player who can step into a leadership role, mentor younger teammates, and contribute to team success right away. Entering the season,

Jayla is a prospect who has just gotten better and better as she continues to learn the game. She is extremely long, quick, fast, and very feisty. She has a shiftiness to her game when handling it offensively, she’s creative, plus she has some touch from around the perimeter. I also really like her urgency at the defensive end of the floor, as she can really cause havoc with her length, whether she’s defending ball-handlers, or she’s getting her hands in passing lanes from one pass away.

Jayla has had a really strong Summer and Fall, and I’m excited to see how that translates this Winter. There are a number of really good, young guards at Pike, so it will be tough to find a lot of minutes, however I feel like she’s the type who could impact a game whether she’s on the floor for 5 minutes or 20 minutes. She is extremely long, fluid, and shifty. She is very crafty and creative offensively, and she’s a gnat defensively who truly bothers opposing ball-handlers. Once she adds a little strength, watch out.
