It was not too long ago that we at Prep Girls Hoops unveiled our updated rankings for this year's senior, junior, sophomore and freshman classes. Along with these new rankings, we also unveiled our watch list of 2030 prospects.

The Palmetto State is one where the talent pool is deep – including among younger classes. Eighth graders are no exception and one can expect our watch list to only expand as the 2025-26 season progresses.

Eighth grade talent is so important to South Carolina's ever-robust youth movement – and a good bit of those names can be found in the frontcourt. We shift our focus to forwards and centers from the 2030 class.

We have had the opportunity to get a glimpse of Summons on a couple of occasions at the Southeast Elite Showcase. Ben Lippen of the SCISA 4A realm is a team that is teeming with young talent and Summons is one of those notable up-and-comers. Summons helped last season's Falcons team achieve a 16-11 record which was a six-win improvement over its 2023-24 version. She played at the varsity level as a seventh grader in 2024-25 and averaged 9.7 rebounds, 9.3 points and two blocks per game. Summons – and the rest of Ben Lippen – appear ready to put the rest of SCISA 4A on notice.

For the last several years, talent has rarely been a problem for Mauldin and it appears another on the verge of rising through the Mavericks' ranks. Drummond spends her time during her travel schedule with [program_tooltip program_id='1231019' first='Upward' last='Stars 3SSB'] which plays on the Adidas circuit. She has no problems falling to the floor to complete a play and is an effective rebounder. Drummond's court vision also enables her to make accurate passes and she is a strong finisher at the rim. She can get from one end of the floor to the other in a quick amount of time and she has no problems drawing contact to get to the free throw line.

There are not too many 2030s that can say they secured a collegiate offer following their seventh-grade season. Fulton is not one's garden variety eighth grader. Back during the summer, she secured an offer from Newberry College and head coach Johnette Walker who knows how to spot in-state talent. As she attends Muller Road M.S., one can assume the Bengals of Blythewood – defending 5A Division 1 state champions – are in the future of the SC Future product. The fact that she is already playing AAU with [program_tooltip program_id='1238252' first='Twelve' last='Time'] – Ja Morant's team – is a testament to where she already is as a player. As her profile rises, more collegiate offers will certainly be in her future.

McMillan has already had an interesting career through the travel ranks. She once wore the [program_tooltip program_id='713672' first='Palmetto' last='Pressure'] uniform before becoming part of the [program_tooltip program_id='783909' first='Palmetto' last='76ers/A'ja Wilson Elite'] organization. In her seventh-grade season, McMillan had the opportunity to play in 20 games for 2A Fairfield Central. McMillan has earned plenty of praise for her defense and how she bolsters a team's rebounding efforts. She is actually a multi-sport athlete that has placed plenty of emphasis on playing softball as a right-handed pitcher and utility player. Regardless of which sport she decides to place more emphasis on, her career will be one to watch as it blossoms over the next several years.

Norwood has played at the middle school level at Marrington M.S. which means she likely has 5A Division 2 Goose Creek in her future. She has also sported the uniform of Lowcountry Premier. As a 5-foot-10 four forward, one would expect that height to give her a noteworthy advantage over her peers. This can particularly be the case with how efficient she can be on the offensive end of the floor. One attribute of Norwood's that separates her from a number of her peers is the ability to effectively utilize her left hand. Winning basketball is typically a constant with the Gators and that is likely to continue as Norwood's development takes her through the high school ranks.
