The class of 2029 watchlist went live today, and there are a handful of players who I'd like to highlight. There will be players who surprise me throughout the season that I don't know heading into the season and have standout campaigns in the 25-26 season. Let's discuss eight of the players I'm eager to see this upcoming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1361656' first='Peace' last='Petzold']

The Pewaukee forward is among the most talented forwards to come through Wisconsin in recent years. She is a versatile 6'2 player who has the physicality to play around the basket, space the floor, and put the ball on the floor to attack mismatches. Petzold is also a selfless kid who is willing to make the right basketball play whenever the ball is in her hands, which says a lot about how smart a player she is and how much of a team player she is at her core.

[player_tooltip player_id='1229383' first='Natalie' last='Rudnick']

The Seymour native is a player who has impressed people in the Midwest during camp season over the past handful of months. She is a physical wing who can overpower defenders around the basket and is more comfortable playing through contact than most players entering their first high school season. Rudnick is also an excellent perimeter shooter who can knock down multiple three pointers in a game and stretch defenses.

[player_tooltip player_id='889268' first='Maria' last='Pluemer']

The Brookfield East guard/wing who fits into what the Spartans want to do on both ends of the court. She is a smart defender who will excel in the zone defense the Spartans will likely continue playing. She knows what's going on around her and will make plays within their defensive structure. Pluemer can also knock down perimeter jumpers and pick her spots to attack the basket off the dribble when the opportunity arises.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217431' first='Maddie' last='Brown']

Brown has been one of my favorite players to watch in the rising freshman class around Wisconsin. The Appleton native is a creative guard who can get to the rim and put pressure on opposing defenses whenever she wants. She hands the ball at a high level and can operate in confined spaces around the basket, without turning the ball over. Brown will be a player who can manipulate defenses the second she steps on the floor, and has some flair in her game. Her ability to find creative ways to make plays around the basket will be fun for anyone to watch if she's playing at the level I know she can.
