These freshman and sophomore standouts all impressed with their play and did a lot of things well.

Gilbert made her presence felt in all facets of the game for Brunswick. Gilbert used her long frame to wreak havoc on the boards, both offensively and on the defensive end. She excelled pushing the ball in transition after securing rebounds on defense and was a threat to keep the ball and score or find an open teammate on the break. Gilbert also was the recipient of passes on the break for layups after sprinting the floor. She has the size of a post with the skill of a guard and very good athleticism to go with it. Gilbert is a player who could see her ranking increase exponentially with more performances like tonight.

Woodard came on strong late in the game helping the Lady Pirates secure the victory. She was explosive finishing at the rim on the break, using nice touch to spin the ball off the backboard with her non-dominant right hand. Woodard mixed up her speed when handling the ball making it hard for the North Forsyth defense to stay in front of her. Woodard shot the ball well from three point range including a big make late in the fourth quarter when the game was still up for grabs. Woodard is a good defender and excelled when Brunswick deployed their pressure defense.

Kendall took home the game MVP award and rightly so, even though her team lost the game. She was the best player on the court for stretches, dominating the boards for North Forsyth, specifically on offense where she had five rebounds in the first half. Arnett utilized her quickness around the basket grabbing rebounds and getting quick put backs multiple times. She also got baskets attacking the rim herself. Arnett played with no fear and attacked the basket repeatedly against much bigger post players. She did a great job making decisions at the top of the key where North Forsyth ran the offense through her, which they did several times.

Emma Grace picked and chose when to attack for North Forsyth on offense, but was effective when she did-attacking the basket and initiating contact with the defender at the in the air. Turner drove the ball to the basket with strength and confidence and was excellent pushing the tempo on the fast break. Emma Grace made several good passes, especially to Arnett. One pass in particular went over her shoulder and the defender to Arnett who was wide open under the basket. Those two clearly have a lot of chemistry and played well together. Turner used her wingspan on defense to create steals and also grabbed two offensive rebounds. She is a solid '28 prospect in the state of Georgia.

Bryan made a lot of hustle plays and did a lot of little things that stood out in a positive way. She was very active on defense, sprinting out to the perimeter to block one three point shot out of bounds. On another play she left the perimeter to help on Brunswick's post, dug down and tied the possession up causing a jump ball. Bryan stole the ball on another play and drove it the length of the court before being fouled. On offense Bryan used a nice shot fake from three point range, drove to the lane, and finished off the glass with her left hand while being fouled.

Carnes provided size and a post presence against a long, athletic front court from Brunswick. Carnes battled hard in the paint when she was in the game, especially on defense guarding [player_tooltip player_id='1143207' first='Lauryn' last='Walker'], a strong, skilled forward. Emerson was physical and used quick feet and angles to keep Walker away from the basket. Carnes also had two different plays where she was able to come up with a loose ball or offensive rebound and get the put back and foul creating plus one chances for North Forsyth.
