As we are just a couple of hours past the turn of the new year, most Indiana girls' basketball teams are at about the halfway point in terms of the number of games they've played. With that said, I wanted to take a moment to look back at the action from November & December, and to point out some standout individuals from around the state. The below ladies are from Class 1A and have been playing great throughout the first half of the 2025-2026 season. Any statistical information listed below is what has been provided through MaxPreps, so if your coaches don't enter information for you, you might be omitted from this article.

When I saw Hannah for the first time back in June with her school team, I thought she was a nice player and figured she would follow up a strong Junior year with another similar season as a Senior. I'm not sure I expected to see her nearly double her scoring average, going from 12.3 to 23.8 points per game. She has been great all year, and consistency has been the biggest part of it, with her single game high being just 31 points, while she has scored 14 or more each time out as well. Additionally, the strong wing has averaged 4.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 5.2 steals, shooting 46% from the field and 39% from downtown.

Callie has quietly put together a fantastic career at Orleans, and she has saved the best for last. She is a long, fluidly athletic forward who can play in the mid-post or around the perimeter equally well. She is approaching 1200 career points and 500 career rebounds, but this season, she has stepped it up even more. Callie is posting career-high scoring numbers (19.4 ppg), assist numbers (3.7 apg), and steal numbers (3.3 spg), while also pulling down 5.2 rebounds per game. She has also been consistent, shooting 50% from the field and 72% from the free throw line. She is a really nice, under the radar, small college prospect.

Lilly is one of those prospects who, as a Freshman, you could see had a great deal of upside/potential. She is extremely long, she runs the floor well North/South, and she has a nice mixture of mid-post to perimeter skill. She can step outside and shoot it, she can put it on the floor and attack the basket, plus she's a solid pursuing rebounder who will use her length to grab boards outside of her area. Her production as a Junior this year has reached a high point, as she is averaging 18.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game. She might even still have another inch left in her to grow.

Rachel popped up throughout the Fall showcase season and really stood out at times with her scrappy play. She is an aggressive guard who isn't afraid of taking on anyone. She has nice length, a wiry strength, and she plays with skillful versatility. She can play on the ball as a point guard or attack the basket and knock down open jump-shots as a shooter score. To begin her high school career, she is averaging 16.7 points and 2.3 steals per game, while shooting a solid 46% from the field and 35% (22-62) from 3-point range. I'll be anxious to watch her in grassroots play this Spring & Summer.

I have been a fan of Olivia's since initially seeing her during our Fall Freshman Showcase back in 2023. She is a nice all-around athlete, she has good length, nice strength at her size, and she has always been steady each time I've seen her. She can operate like a traditional point guard, with her head up, scanning the floor, looking for open teammates. She can also get downhill and score the ball going to the basket, plus she has always been a highly effective defender. This year, the Junior is averaging career bests in scoring (15.8 ppg), rebounding (7.3 rpg), assists (5.3 apg), and steals (4.4 spg).

Hadley is another Southern Indiana Freshman guard who stood out at our Freshman showcase this Fall. She is a long, quick, and feisty guard who seems to just enjoy being on the court. She can create/initiate offense as a point guard, plus she is averaging 15.7 points per game while knocking down a pair of 3-pointers on average each game night. Hadley is attempting to help the Hornets to a third straight winning season and close the gap between them and the Bordens & Easterns (Pekin) of the Southern Conference. Keep an eye out for her during the Spring grassroots season.
