MLK Holiday Classic: 2027s to Watch

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Girls Hoops North Carolina is updating their rankings this month, and we are here to spotlight some names on the list (and Virginia's, too!)  I was able to catch some of these names at the MLK Holiday Classic this weekend at TW Andrews.  Here are my notes from the event.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block job cutting down to the block, getting the pass, and scoring off the glass.  She can go to work with her back to the basket using power dribbles and drop steps to get into position to score her points.  She took matters into her own hands attacking the basket creating some space and hitting the bucket for two.  It seemed to be a blocking highlight reel on defense as she protected the basket the floor well getting the pass in transition and scoring with hands in her face.  She directed her teammates where to go even pointing to a spot and lobbing up the pass knowing her teammate would fall under it for the bucket.  She even used some power dribble moves on the block to score her points off the glass.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- the block getting into position and sealing off her opponents with power dribbles to bank it off the glass.  She hit her shot from deep, and she battled inside against contact making sure she always had a chance for some points.  She saw open lanes attacking from the top of the key making it count through some tough defenders.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- the scoring in the game using her tough ball handling to get into position, pull up, and hit the midrange jumper.  She did well getting into position on defense drawing a charge and gaining the possession again for her team.  Her pull up was tough and very difficult to defend.  She showed her ability to block some shots in the paint as well</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- directing her teammates where to go to get some offensive plays going.  She attacked the basket and made sure she found the open lane cutting backdoor to get the pass.  She hustled on defense flying across the court to deflect passes disrupting her opponents' offensive sets.  She had some nice range with her shot, too.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- getting her hands in the way on defense grabbing steals and rebounds.  She found her open teammates to push the tempo going the other direction, and she flashed to the block making sure she was a target to get the pass.  She knew how to read the defense and go to work for her points flashing in the paint looking for the pass.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- off her range shooting the ball.  She was moving without the ball well making her cuts effective and getting to the opening to put up her shot.  She did well pulling up for the midrange jumper using
