PGH MI College Tour III: Eight Sunday Standouts

Our third stop of the PGH Michigan College Tour was a mic drop. The quality and variety of clubs, talent, hosting facility, amount of college coaches on site, and format were exactly what we've all wanted to see for years. We've been waiting for a tournament that felt like a Michigan AAU State Championship was on the line, and that's exactly how this felt. At the home of back-to-back D2 national champions, Grand Valley State University, our staff emptied the tank to provide the best possible experience and live coverage we could. The positive feedback from college coaches, parents, and AAU coaches was overwhelming. Thank you to everyone who supported this and made an unforgettable weekend possible! Here are several standouts from Sunday's games.    Teagan's full throttle style, effort on both ends, and skill with the ball immediately caught my attention on Sunday at the PGH MI College Tour III. She drilled a corner three, sprinted back in transition to intercept a pass, and came soaring into the paint to snatch offensive rebounds. Teagan worked hard to keep ball-handlers at bay on the defensive end, caused jump balls, and switched hands confidently with her eyes up as a facilitator. She'll be a prospect to follow from Michigan Dean 15U.     Allie turned in a complete performance for Mystics 15U Select in the Gold Championship Game. Her two-way play had a massive impact in the game. She closed out hard to block a shot on the perimeter, picked pockets with quick hands, and escaped pressure with confidence in the open court. Allie slashed to the basket, used a sweet fake pass move, then earned a trip to the free throw line. She knocked both down. Allie penetrated the middle and fired smart kick passes to open shooters for assists. She's a perimeter threat who waits for the right moment to fire. My favorite play of hers was when Allie defended a 3 on 1 perfectly in transition on a breakaway to force a missed shot without fouling. She's a point guard to pay attention to on Mystics 15U Select.     Avery has a reputation for her dangerous perimeter shooting and she caught fire for Mystics 17 P24 on Sunday at the PGH MI College Tour III. Avery moved to open space and made the defense pay, burying three triples in the second half of the Diamond Championship Game. She finished a smooth transition bucket for good measure and secured an offer from Davenport University following the tournament.     Sydney quietly had a very productive and impactful tournament for Mystics 15U P24. Her consistent play helped guide the team to a Diamond Championship at the PGH MI College Tour III. Sydney drove downhill with a burst to earn trips to the foul line and finished well off two feet. She moves well laterally to stop drives and has stealthy anticipation that leads to steals on the defensive end. Sydney raced up the court after a steal to score a breakaway bucket and distributed crisp passes to open teammates for assists. Her instincts as a facilitator and defender are important to the team's success.     Kinley was in the zone for MBA UAA 16U at the PGH MI College Tour III. She was aggressive on the defensive end, blocking shots away inside, crashing the glass to secure rebounds, and a consistent three-point sniper throughout the weekend. Kinley buried three triples in the Diamond Championship Game, drove by for a layup, and converted both free throws confidently from the charity stripe after getting fouled on a backdoor cut. Kinley is an elite guard in this class and she proved it during an impressive All-Tournament First Team performance in the top 16U bracket.     Gabrielle had an impressive Diamond bracket semifinal performance at the PGH MI College Tour III for [program_tooltip program_id='712670' first='Michigan' last='Storm Elite'] 15U. She's athletic, quick laterally, has a muscular frame, effective as a downhill slasher, and a perimeter threat. Gabby knocked down a smooth corner jumper, drained two confident triples off the hop, and scored a sweet spin finish in the lane. She's a dynamic guard who has a lot of upside.     Presley is a lanky and skilled guard who stepped up big time for Mystics 15U P24 on Sunday. She chased down rebounds, handled the ball confidently under pressure, facilitated, attacked off the dribble to score layups, and showed her ability to knock down the open three. Her all-around impact helped the squad end the weekend as Diamond bracket champs.     Andi plays much bigger than her size. She was a key player for [program_tooltip program_id='1831436' first='MBA' last='[program_tooltip program_id='952340' first='The' last='House']'] Blue in the 17U Bronze Championship Game. She dropped in an impressive floater over the arms of outstretched defenders on a drive and accelerated off the dribble for a see you later layup. Andi is deadly from three-point range and she drilled a deep triple up top. Andi got to the free throw line, created separation with her shifty handles, and facilitated the ball effectively. She's a playmaker to keep your eyes on this spring.
