Live at Lakepoint - Players who were "Tough as Nails"

Select Events hosted Live at Lakepoint from May 15-17 in Emerson, Georgia. There were twelve courts that stayed packed with college coaches sitting and standing on the baselines all weekend. The talent and competitive play from the young ladies did not disappoint.    Janiyah was one of the strongest rebounders this past weekend. She was an absolute beast on the boards. Her determination to go get the ball and rebound was impressive. Oates is strong and powerful on the glass on both ends. She also was aggressive getting to the rim on her one-on-one drives.     Tough as nails is the way I would describe [player_tooltip player_id='876798' first='Audrey' last='Lunsford']. She is a well-rounded and versatile player that does all the little things to make her team better. Defensively, she will sit down and guard one on one. She gets herself in the right position on help side defense to take a charge. Offensively, she is strong and finishes through contact at the rim. This kid competes on every play. She is a competitor and fun to watch!     A downhill guard that can accelerate and explode up the court in a flash. Jade can go the length of the court in four to five dribbles, and nobody is going to stand in her way. She is coming full speed, but in total control. Bell can finish at the rim as well as anyone playing the game. She is solid as a rock physically and can turn and twist her body at different angles to finish the play. She is a knock down free throw shooter which adds to her points because she gets to the line often.     You would never know that this athlete was just returning from a major shoulder injury that kept her from playing this past high school season. Drayton was competing as hard as anyone I saw this past weekend. She was diving for loose balls, going strong for rebounds in traffic and not shying away from contact on her offensive moves. I was very impressed to see how hard she was playing and you could totally tell she has missed being out on the court. Welcome back Madison!     A physical guard that does not mind contact. Johnson attacked the paint hard and made plays all weekend. She is strong enough to make buckets and get the old fashioned AND1. Hope will bang inside for rebounds and defend bigger players if necessary. She has a toughness about her that makes her a difficult matchup.     Marli took her bumps this past weekend, but it never slowed her down. There were times she was limping and other times she had tissue up her nose to keep it from bleeding. Whatever the case was it did not matter she was still on the court giving one hundred percent. She also showed she can play any position on the court if necessary. If she needs to play in the post she will or if she needs to bring the ball down the court and set up the offense she will. Seibles will do whatever her team needs to help make them successful. A true selfless player!
