Summer Update: 2030 Backcourt Ballers on the WL

Each summer, we like to put out a Watch List for the incoming freshman class. These are players from across the state that we have become familiar with through observations of their play during middle school, AAU, and showcases. The Headliners Invitational Showcase and observations of the 2030 class at travel tournaments over the past year have helped us expedite the process of identifying the next great high school prospects. Every kid on the Watch List is expected to be a key contributor to their high school program and is on track to have college opportunities at various levels.   The Watch List is not a ranking. The Watch List includes prospects we've evaluated from many clubs who are projected to play college basketball in some capacity, but it's much too early to predict where each kid will end up in the rankings. With physical maturation and exponential fundamental growth still in play, nothing is close to being determined yet. There are several prospects on the list who are competing for a high ranking, and we hope to see the freshman put their talent on full display at our staple Freshman Showcase in August!    Chelsea has a scrappy, young backcourt and Charley will be a phenomenal addition for the Bulldogs. She was one of the most impressive prospects on the court at [program_tooltip program_id='714462' first='Michigan' last='Premier'] practice and her multidimensional impact will translate very well to high school basketball. Charley handles the ball with excellent control and has a variety of combo moves in her toolbox. She sees the court as an effective court general, creates space with shifty quickness, and dices up defenses to score with touch at the rim. Charley's a perimeter threat, applies great pressure on the defensive end, and attacks in transition.     Chippewa Hills is adding a playmaker to its backcourt next winter. Lily's been a consistent top performer for [program_tooltip program_id='713450' first='REAL' last=''] on the PGH Circuit the past two seasons. She's a confident three-point shooter who can shake defenders off the dribble, get to the basket, and finish with touch. Her skilled ball-handling, perimeter accuracy, rebounding presence, and ability to facilitate will elevate the program right away.     A young and talented squad that brings back the bulk of last year's core is about to get better. Freeland adds another outstanding guard talent to their backcourt with Julia joining the ranks. She's a sniper from three-point distance, handles the ball well with both hands, has some length, works hard to contribute as a rebounder, disrupts shots, and doesn't shy away from contact when she drives to the rim. Julia's demonstrated confidence and poise while playing up on the PGH Circuit for Mystics P24. I expect varsity basketball to be a seamless transition for the freshman.     The dynamic sister duo of Al and Sam Fuhs is coming to a court near you. Al plays 100 mph and seems to always impact games in multiple statistical categories as a result. She has length, speed, tenacity, and a comprehensive skill set that will wreak havoc on opponents at the varsity level. All stretches the floor with her three-point shooting, takes the ball straight to the basket with explosive steps, finishes strong through contact, and pressures the ball to generate steals. She's persistent on the glass, and her quickness in transition creates fast-break points. Al is a prospect I'm very excited to see on the court soon with Divine Child.     Bailey put on an impressive display of next-level size and talent as a guard-wing prospect during the MBA Mother's Day Classic. Great footwork, finishing moves in a telephone booth, touch at the rim, strength in contested situations, work ethic as a rebounder, active hands on the defensive, and an accurate shot from beyond the arc. Unity Christian is adding a big-time prospect to their roster.     There's a dynamic duo coming to the Ann Arbor Greenhills backcourt this winter, and they're going to lift the program to new heights. Cece has length, athleticism, and skill that's going to create matchup problems on day one. She can slash to the hoop, bottle up guards with her quick feet on the perimeter, knock down the open jumper, finish with balance in traffic, and facilitate. Definitely a prospect to have on your radar ahead of the high school season.     Cydney has a silky smooth shot from the perimeter, moves well off the ball, uses fancy footwork in the paint to avoid defenders, scores through contact, and has great touch at the rim. Cydney's length and shifty handles create lanes to attack. She works hard to make a difference on the boards and uses her athleticism to turn up the heat on defense. She's a talented incoming freshman ready to burst onto the high school scene.
