Over the past two years, Nate Wickstrom and JD Andersen have put together a camp of 25 talented players, run them through skills workouts, and put them in a competitive environment. I've enjoyed attending the first two events they have put together, and I'm excited to see how they grow the event in the years to come. Over the next few days, I'll talk about some things I noticed from the players in attendance, what they showed through drills, some of the competitive drills, and short 5v5 games they played over the four hours in Mequon.

Sometimes, some talents jump out to you the second you see them in the gym, and Ketterhagen is one of those players. The Oostburg native made all the skills work look easy and made everything she did look like the simplest thing on the planet. She looked like the most complete player in the gym in the 5v5 portion of the event.

Few players are as smooth as the Hartford native, and she was fun to watch when she was at her best. She always plays at her own pace and excels at the 1v1 portion, where she started with an advantage. There may not have been a better player in that setting than Kuepper. Any time she works in isolation, she is capable of making something happen.

The Waunakee native has improved tenfold since I first saw her play a few years ago. Her skill set has grown, and she's worked hard at improving her game on the offensive end of the floor. She looked solid in the skills work, and her athleticism made her a headache for players in her group to work against. She keeps getting better and takes pride in her development, and it shows in the results over the last year.

Hardnen has always been among the most skilled ball handlers in the state, and she thrived in the skills portion of the camp. Everything came naturally to her, and even though you could tell she was attacking every rep, she was so skilled that it still looked easy to her. I thought she had an excellent day in Mequon and was one of the players comfortable talking on the floor in the 5v5 portion and organizing her team whenever needed. She's also a kid other players enjoy playing with, which speaks to her character on and off the floor.
