The evaluation and rankings process was expedited this spring and summer due to the volume of Prep Girls Hoops tournaments in Michigan and mass participation by clubs and teams on our Prep Girls Hoops Circuit. The Prep Girls Hoops College Tour series and Prep Girls Hoops Michigan State Tournament gave us five chances to see prospects compete locally right here in Michigan. Nearly every club with college prospects in Michigan competed in front of our scouts at one Prep Girls Hoops tournament, and many clubs attended more than one. This [program_tooltip program_id='713450' first='REAL' last='']ity created the perfect environment for us to evaluate prospects from across the state against various levels of competition.

After actively evaluating prospects during the first travel session, we now have 235 players ranked. Height, size, speed, athleticism, fundamental skill development, the position a player is projected to play at the next level, and performance in different competitive settings are all taken into account. Our goal with every class is to accurately group prospects into the correct categories of college potential/projection. By the end of senior year, each class breaks down into clear categories: Power Four/D1+, D1/D2+, D2/NAIA+/D3+/JUCO+, NAIA/D3/JUCO, and NAIA/D3 reserve. As I've written many times, the levels of college basketball intersect, cross, and differ in competitive ability throughout all the divisions. All high school classes do not have the same size, talent, or level of college talent. However, based on my tracking of commitments over the past three years, there appears to be a predictable trend in Michigan.

Based on data from the 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes, there could be approximately 410 or more prospects per grade who can play some level of college basketball. There will always be multisport athletes who don't do travel basketball or play in some remote area where we just don't get the opportunity to identify them for our rankings, despite our best efforts. Using averages from the past three classes, there may be anywhere from 10-20 D1 commits, 20-30 D2 commits, and 125-140 NAIA/D3/JUCO commits in a particular class. However, this 2028 class is clearly going to be an outlier. The number of prospects rated as D1/D2+ and D2/D3+/NAIA+/JUCO+ is greater than the typical average, with the biggest increase happening with 20+ prospects rated D1/D2+ and 55+ prospects rated as D2/NAIA+/D3+/JUCO+. The outcome of this surplus of talent/depth will hopefully mean more opportunities for these high school prospects to play impactful minutes at the best college level for them in Michigan, across the Midwest, and wherever they decide to go.

Sophie had a breakout sophomore campaign at Greenville, and she continued to shine bright for [program_tooltip program_id='1414318' first='Dream' last='Loudly Basketball EYCL'] 16U on the PGH Circuit, receiving recognition as a Top Performer. Sophie combines her length, quickness, and physicality to make life difficult for opposing guards on the perimeter. She's effective as a slasher, has good vision as a facilitator, and can take over games from beyond the arc when she catches fire. Sophie picked up her first offer from Embry-Riddle and a D2 offer from Wayne State.

Maddy will be an excellent addition to the Detroit Country Day backcourt this winter. She was very productive and impactful at BCAM Reaching Higher. Maddy is a very athletic guard who can step outside to hit threes or attack with a downhill burst and beat defenders to the rim. She has the physical strength to finish through contact. Maddy competes with a high motor, moves her feet quickly laterally to apply significant ball pressure on the perimeter, and stays active on the boards. She hasn't hit her ceiling yet and picked up a D1 offer from UMBC in June.

Abby has the length, physicality, strength, toughness, and versatility as a guard that translates to the higher levels of college basketball. She was a frequent Top Performer for MBA UAA 16U on the PGH Circuit at multiple tournaments, receiving recognition from scouts inside and outside of the state. Abby sees the floor well, stays poised under pressure, switches hands on determined drives to the basket, and scores through contact. She uses strong moves and effective footwork in the post to create scoring angles and finish. Abby disrupts guards with her length on the perimeter and blocks shots inside without fouling. She creates space with quick crossover combos, changes speeds, and accelerates with a burst to drive by for layups. Abby facilitates well, doesn't shy away from contact, and rebounds the ball aggressively on both ends. She holds an offer from Hope College and consistently separated herself against great competition in front of our scouts.

Molly received frequent write-ups and Top Performer recognition from our Michigan and border state scouts on the PGH Circuit with MBA UAA 16U. Her 6-foot-plus length, aggressiveness, guard skills, and shot-blocking are why she's a bonified D1 two-guard-wing prospect. Molly performed at a high level against great AAU competition and dominated in every phase against high school competition. She left no doubt that she was the best prospect on the court at the Au Sable Shootout. Molly is a great facilitator, gets to the rim off the dribble, absorbs contact, and finishes with excellent touch and footwork around the basket. She rips the net at a high clip from beyond the arc, which puts defenses in a catch-22 situation. She uses her length to close passing windows and blocks shots with authority on the defensive end. Molly has D1 offers from Akron, St. Bonaventure, and Murray State. She's our top-ranked shooting guard-wing prospect in the class.

Mya has length, athleticism, and versatility that make her an extremely promising guard-wing prospect in this class. She can stretch the floor as a perimeter threat, attack quickly downhill off the dribble, and finish effectively in traffic. Mya was a Top Performer for [program_tooltip program_id='932068' first='Michigan' last='Prospects'] 17U at the SVSU PGH Michigan College Tour. Her defensive pressure, ability to disrupt the passing lanes, all-out hustle, complete impact, and dribble penetration were separators during the tournament.

Sloan was a Top Performer for Mystics Chosen at the PGH Michigan State Tournament and was a solid contributor throughout the PGH Circuit. She has skills and intangibles that stand out. Sloan communicates constantly whether she's on the floor or on the bench. She's energetic and encourages teammates. Sloan makes the effort plays and drives hard through traffic to either score layups or get to the free-throw line. She knocks down shots from the perimeter and in the mid-range. Sloan picked up offers from St. Clair CC and Mott CC.
