2030 Rankings: Meet Kentucky’s Top 10 Prospects

Prep Girls Hoops Kentucky is excited to debut our initial rankings for the Class of 2030, featuring 100 prospects from across the state. The list is a projection based on each player's potential to play at the next level, not just their current ability. High school production, overall skill set, physical tools, upside, and college offers all factor into the evaluation process, with offers carrying significant weight. This is a very deep and talented group, and it's still early in their careers. As these players continue to grow and develop, movement is expected, and adjustments will be made accordingly as we gather more evaluations and see how each prospect progresses.   With that being said, let's dive into the rankings, starting with the Top 10 prospects in Kentucky's Class of 2030.    Claiming the No. 1 spot in our initial rankings is [player_tooltip player_id='1119375' first='Jylin' last='Edmondson']   She's a big guard with impressive length who plays with poise and processes the game at a high-level. She does an excellent job getting to her spots and has shown flashes of an elite shooter, who can make shots from all over the floor. Her rebounding ability is another major strength, as she uses her size, length, and anticipation to make an impact on the glass. Edmondson also put together a productive AAU season, helping FBC Kentucky finish as the top team in the GUAA 16U division. A BlueStar 30 member, she already holds Power 4 offers, with her most recent coming from the University of Louisville.     This marks back-to-back years that two BlueStar 30s have headlined our initial rankings. Coming in at No. 2 is [player_tooltip player_id='1276182' first='E'liyah' last='Strode'].   Strode averaged 10.0 points per game along with a team-leading 6.3 rebounds for GRC last season, and her performance in the state championship game was monumental. If you ask me, that was the moment she truly burst into superstardom. The 6'1” wing/forward plays with a high motor and has nuclear athleticism. She is an explosive rebounder, scores at a high rate around the basket, and continues to extend her shooting range out to the perimeter. Strode also makes a major impact defensively with her versatility and ability to protect the rim. She already holds several Division I offers, including SEC offers from Florida and Alabama that she picked up this summer while competing with Sports City Angels 15U on the EYBL circuit.     At No. 3, we have [player_tooltip player_id='1119376' first='La'Kyiah' last='Taylor'].   She led Franklin County with 17 points per game last season and helped the Lady Flyers claim the 41st District championship before making a run to the 11th Region semifinals. Taylor can blow by initial defenders with ease using her elite handle and speed. She is an extremely creative finisher at the rim, and she can also knock down shots from deep at a solid clip. Taylor is a gifted passer as well who knows how to make life easier for her teammates. Defensively, she stays locked in and her instincts scream next level. Taylor puts herself in the right position to make winning plays and brings infectious energy on that end of the floor. She was also a key player for FBC Kentucky 16U during the travel season and already holds a handful of Division I offers.     Coming in at No. 4 is Simon Kenton's [player_tooltip player_id='1199136' first='Angela' last='Kabeya'].   She put up 9.5 points and 2.2 rebounds per game last season while shooting 46% from the field and 41% from three. She was a valuable piece for the Lady Pioneers, helping them capture both district and regional championships before making a deep run in the Sweet 16. Kabeya plays with an edge and is one of the best pure scorers in the class. She shoots the ball efficiently from the field and beyond the arc, while also attacking the rim fearlessly. Her ceiling is very high, and she already holds Division I offers from Northern Kentucky and Morehead State University.     Rounding out the top 5 is [player_tooltip player_id='1219861' first='Kyah' last='Curtsinger'].   She was an All-Region selection and the third-leading scorer for Dunbar as an eighth grader, averaging 12.8 points per game. Her play was instrumental in the Lady Bulldogs' success as they won the 43rd District championship and advanced to the 11th Region championship game. Curtsinger is an athletic-framed guard who is comfortable playing both on and off the ball. She excels at slashing to the rim and finishing through contact. I also really like the intensity she brings defensively and her ball-hawk mentality. She picked up a Division I offer from Dayton in June and will now be part of a talented GRC roster this season.     Taking the No. 6 spot is [player_tooltip player_id='1176089' first='Kollyn' last='Groves'].   The 5'10” guard averaged 12.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for Boyd County last season while also shooting an impressive 82.2% from the free-throw line. Groves is a marksman from deep with a polished shooting stroke, but she can also put the ball on the deck and make things happen off the bounce. She received a Division I offer from Morehead State University in May and enters her freshman season as one of the top players in the 16th Region.     Coming in at No. 7 is [player_tooltip player_id='1856452' first='Ava' last='Hudson'].   I watched this kid during summer ball, and she really jumped off the page. She is a long, athletic guard who can score from all three levels and is just as impactful on the defensive end. I'm a big fan of her game and the way she competes. Hudson is a true two-way prospect with plenty of upside. She will look to make a name for herself this season with state runner-up Assumption. Holds a Division I offer from Morehead State University.     At No. 8 on our list is [player_tooltip player_id='887148' first='Baylee' last='Paulley'].   She averaged 6.5 points per game across 25 games for Nelson County last season while shooting close to 34% from three-point range. Paulley is highly skilled guard with the IQ to match. She possesses exceptional court vision, is a quality passer, and makes the players around her better. She is the type of point guard teammates enjoy playing with because of her ability to facilitate and create with the ball in her hands. She is also a deadly shooter from the outside. Paulley currently holds a Division I offer from Bellarmine University and will help make up a really good backcourt at Bardstown this season.     [player_tooltip player_id='1237865' first='Elly' last='Ingels'] claims the No. 9 spot on our list.   She was Rowan County's second-leading scorer last season, averaging 12.0 points per game. Ingels is a lead guard who can command an offense. She has a tight handle, good playmaking instincts, and is a lethal shooter from three-point land. She can also get into the lane and find crafty ways to score in traffic. Ingels picked up her first Division I offer from Bellarmine University back in July and is poised for a big freshman campaign with Rowan County.     We complete the top 10 with [player_tooltip player_id='1598365' first='Amaya' last='Brown'].   She averaged 9.1 points per game for Bowling Green last season and played a major role in their success throughout the year. I got my first in-person look at her at the Freshman Showcase and was blown away by what I saw. She has a good mix of size, length, and athleticism, along with a competitive spirit and an endless motor. Brown is bouncy and really strides the floor, which makes her very dangerous in transition with how quickly she can cover ground. She plays with energy on both ends and has the physical tools that immediately stand out. Brown has all the makings of a Division I prospect.
