Keziah Lofton-5’11 PG (Lady Jets)
Lofton is long and athletic, she can play the 1-3 effectively now and she did it playing against players heading to college after senior season. Watching her attack the rim and glide towards the basket was always there yet she has learned how to mix it up while creating her shot which is from mid to long-range and she gets it off easily because of her length as well as jumping ability. She also plays strong defense and watching her play the passing lane is almost an automatic basket going the other way
Cedraiah Peterson-5’11 PF (Ashley Robertson Lady Vols)
Peterson took me to yesteryear with her #THROWBACK mentality, yeah she did well in the pregame stuff but once the bright lights went on, she stepped on center court and just left me speechless, starting with a convincing drop-step, why has that gone away is beyond me because she has it down very nicely. She overpowers defenders attacking and finishing and she plays aggressive defense in the paint or on the perimeter but she also does a good job rebounding and running the floor
Brandie Harrod-5’9 G (Unity)
Harrod was one of the many pleasant surprises, she understands positioning and her countless putbacks after contact was only overshadowed by her attacking the rim from the wing and finishing, after contact but on top of all that, her consistency at getting to the basket showed how well she set defenders up. She’s also long and athletic, I call that the base, and her timing is very good on blocking, deflecting and, or altering shots plus she defends and rebounds
McKenzie Mathurin-5’9 G (Oklahoma Swift)
Mathurin showed defensive pressure right off of the top when the games begin and the heat she brought had me sweating and when you see players that actually love to defend, understand how to trap as well as how to read the floor, at this stage, that’s huge but what’s even huger is her pull-up jumper which she creates after being tightly defended and when you can knock the midrange down consistently, college coaches will be knocking but she also understands how to attack the rim
Skylar Durley-5’9 G (Lady Vols)
Durley has an abundance of tools to work with, on both ends of the court, and let me start with her strong body which she used very well under the basket, even showed me the “drop step”, someone is teaching something useful but she also can handle the ball, under pressure, she sees the floor going full speed and she can take defenders with either hand. I wrote ups because she elevates on her jumper, for rebounds and to block shots but wait a minute, she also can shoot the ball from deep
