This will be a quick-hitter with more consistent updates to come. Next up, prepare and preview the Nebraska Showcase at Kearney High School January 8th. I plan on being in attendance.
Khloe Lemon Khloe Lemon 5'9" | SG Millard South | 2023 State NE – Khloe hit a game-winning three against the surging Bellevue West team. One of the most notable plays in the early season.

Speaking of Bellevue West, Ahnica Russell-Brown Ahnica Russell-Brown 5'8" | PG Bellevue West | 2024 State NE is a rising prospect in the 2024 class. She’s been a consistent and legit producer. Also, Taryn Wharton Taryn Wharton 5'6" | PG Bellevue West | 2022 State NE just reached 1,000 career points.
When evaluators on a national scale first think of Nebraska, Britt Prince Britt Prince 5'11" | PG Elkhorn North | 2024 State NE is most likely their initial thought. She set a school record with 36 points. Last time I checked, she was in the #10-#15 range by ESPN, for top prospects in the nation for the 2024 class. I haven’t been covering the state of Nebraska for a major amount of time, but I can say she can do whatever she wants on the court. Very Very good prospect. Effortless euro-step that makes it easy for her.
Prince’s offseason (what I like to call it) teammate Doneelah Washington Doneelah Washington 6'1" | C Lincoln Northeast | 2024 State NE is heating up as a legitimate top-end prospect in the 2024 class. She’s probably #2 behind Prince at this point.
Shuffling through three states, I’ve only seen Fremont play once, but McKenna Murphy McKenna Murphy 5'11" | SG Elkhart North | 2024 State NE is breaking out and can be considered as a Top 5 2024 prospect in Nebraska. A prospect that checks all the recruiting boxes.
Millard North is a team I’ve seen 2-3 times by memory. Sara Haley stands out. She’s making a name for herself as a threat and will be a career scorer.
Sara Harley Sara Harley 5'9" | SG Millard North | 2025 State NE – 5’10 G 2025 – Millard North – The Freshman is off to a hot start, with an 11 point and a 17 point game for an average of 8.8 ppg. through four games. She’s a long and skilled guard that is a threat from three.
Ellie McCarville Ellie McCarville 5'9" | CG Millard North | 2023 State NE – 5’9 G 2023 – Millard North – Ellie is one of the most skilled guards in the state. She can comfortably handle the ball and bring it up-court with ease. A skilled passer that can pass it in all directions, on target.
Avril Smith Avril Smith 6'0" | PF Millard North | 2025 State NE – 6’0 F 2025 – Millard North – Avril is a valuable piece and a great prospect for Millard North. She’s extremely long and plays relentlessly. Always battling for the ball and is an effective finisher.
Worth a mention prospect, Callie Cooper Callie Cooper 5'10" | CG Southern | 2023 State NE – 5’11 G/F 2023 – Southern – Callie is a scorer that doesn’t let up. She’s always attacking the hoop, putting constant pressure on the defense. One of the most versatile prospects in the state, as she’ll handle the point and also post up when she has a size advantage.
The Loomis-Gotl sisters are getting better. Big sister Ruthie, is the schools all-time leading scorer with lots of career left. She recently had a 28 point outing.
