In the latest article we will take a look at members in the class of 2023 that have earned PGH WA All-State honors. Mostly all of these players are major players on state title contending teams
Point Guard:
5’5 PG Malia Samuels Malia Samuels 5'7" | PG Garfield | 2023 State #46 Nation WA (Garfield HS) has been a force leading Garfield High School to a 14-0 record beating teams by 30-40 points regularly. Samuels recently exploded for 39 points in a win over West Seattle.
5’7 PG Hope Hassmann Hope Hassmann 5'7" | CG Tahoma | 2023 State WA (Tahoma HS) has been on a roll in her junior year averaging nearly 22 points and 7 assists per game. Tahoma is a top contender in the 4A classification.
Small Forwards:
6’1 SF Jenna Villa Jenna Villa 6'1" | SF Arlington | 2023 State WA (Arlington HS) is a high major shooter that has been very strong in her junior season with Arlington helping her squad to a 15-2 overall record. Villa has scorched the nets on countless occasions and she has also upped her rebounding this season as well.
6’0 SF Amelie Sitterud Amelie Sitterud 6'0" | SG Tahoma | 2023 State WA (Tahoma HS) has been a strong piece to Tahoma’s strong run in the 4A class. Sitterud is leading Tahoma in rebounds and blocks while also putting up double digit scoring games scoring in a variety of ways. *Committed to LMU
6’1 SF Claire O’Connor Claire O’Connor 6'1" | SF Lakeside | 2023 State WA (Lakeside HS) has been strong individually for Lakeside this season. A skilled and wiry lefty has put up some good numbers in the Metro League and she is a prospect that many colleges are currently tracking in the 2023 class.
