This year’s CGHR Carolina Clash at Jay M. Robinson HS featured a good mix of standout veterans and standout youngsters. Fritz was one of the veteran stars that shined brightly at the 3A Bulldogs’ home court this past weekend. Her 1 of 1 Prep team was locked in a tight contest against a formidable foe in Northside Christian. Fritz tallied 17 points to lead all scorers for that game. She particularly keyed 1 of 1 Prep’s efforts from behind the 3-point line as she drained five of her tries from downtown. With the success she was having behind the arc, one had to assume that if the ball left her hands from 3-point land, she would strike paydirt. She can play productive minutes as either a guard or a wing. Fritz is listed at 5-foot-8 and has offers from Montreat, Randolph Macon and Kenyon College.

Reese Fritz has been known her whole high school career as a deep threat consistently showing off her ability to knock down shots from around the perimeter.  She’s been expanding her ability on the court, though, as she is more than just a shooter.  She can handle the ball well finding her open teammates or creating the open lanes she needs to get to the rim.  Her ability to get inside fighting for position shows off her versatility and willingness to step up on all areas for her team.

Reese Fritz continues to show off her strong shooting knocking down shots around the perimeter.  She even had a four point play scoring a three pointer through contact.  She makes nice cuts flashing in the paint catching the pass and scoring points.  She is constantly moving to get open knowing how to make the defense shift, and her playmaking serves as leadership for her teammates.

Reese Fritz Reese Fritz 5'8" | SG 1 Of 1 Prep | 2024 State NC seemed to be at the free throw line on many occasions after attacking the basket and scoring.  She runs the floor well being able to catch the pass in transition to score some points.  She jumped in front of passing lanes and pushed the ball the other direction to score on fast breaks.  Her stroke from deep was of course on display, too.

Reese did a good job Saturday of playing both on and off the ball. She moves extremely well off the ball and can shoot lights out from the perimeter. Reese is versatile enough to fit into any backcourt and adjust to whatever the offense needs her to do. She is extremely dangerous from deep and defenders must get a hand her face or she will make the defense pay.

Reese Fritz Reese Fritz 5'8" | SG 1 Of 1 Prep | 2024 State NC will be carrying her hot shooting into this summer as she has already done this spring.  She does a nice job creating space as she moves without the ball and stays ready to catch and shoot from deep.  She moves well with the ball finding ways to make sharp passes to her teammates or fill in an open lane attacking the basket.  On defense, she shows off her IQ being able to slide into passing lanes grabbing the steal to push the other direction.

Reese Fritz makes sure everyone in the gym knows her ability to shoot the ball even if they didn’t already.  She slides into openings around the perimeter and is ready for the pass and bucket, and she is sure of her shot quickly releasing it making sure no one has the chance to block it.  She finds her open teammates underneath the basket, or she can drive and pull up for some midrange jumpers to score some points.  She has great length on defense being able to move laterally to block the path of guards trying to get by her.

Reese Fritz is a sharp shooter from all around the perimeter.  You know she can shoot when the opposing team’s defensive game plan involves trying to lock her down from even touching the ball.  She is quick to get open without the ball cutting in and out of the paint and flashing across the court.  She follows shots grabbing rebounds on defense and immediately pushing it up the court.

Reese Fritz Reese Fritz 5'8" | SG 1 Of 1 Prep | 2024 State NC has had a strong summer shooting from around the perimeter, and she can do so from the pass or off her own dribble.  She does a nice job pushing the tempo whether she is making a long pass up the court or taking the ball all the way herself.  She can definitely create some separation with a nice jump stop scoring points that way.  On the defensive side of the ball, she uses her vision to anticipate passes to deflect them out of the way or obtain possession.
