Before we get to the business of the All-Tournament teams tomorrow, we need to take a quick look at the players who changed the game on the last day of the Dynasty Classic in Houston. Here are three players whose level of play really placed them above their peers on Sunday and caught the eye of a lot of people in attendance. Keep up the good work, ladies!
Mariah Conally | 5-7 G | Krush Queens / OKC Storm | 2027 | @ConallyMariah
There’s a reason that Mariah recently performed in the Super-16 All-Star game here in Oklahoma. She is a tremendous player. Only a 2027, she already has very good size and length for a guard. She has a quick trigger three and can absolutely shoot the lights out from long range. She also has the handles and quickness to drive to the rim and finish strong inside. On the defensive side of things, she is tenacious and never lets up. Conally is a workout warrior and with some very good trainers in her corner and a lot of commitment, the sky is truly the limit for this young star. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Mariah Conally!
Erin Robinson | 5-7 G | AE Red / Mesquite Poteet | 2024 | @AthleticEliteB1
Robinson is a tough guard who did a lot of really good things on Sunday. She attacked the rim with a viciousness rarely seen at this level and made sure to finish despite whatever harm came her way inside. In my notes, I simply wrote “unafraid” by her name. She is a go-getter who goes and gets buckets. She has a nice stroke that she is willing to let go of if given any kind of space from mid or long range. She also showed off some really, really good handles in bringing the ball up the court and often splitting double teams from the defense. Don’t let Erin’s sweet demeanor fool you. She is a beast on the basketball court!
Alexandra Gordon | 6-0 C | Just Play Elite / Kinkaid | 2027 | @Alexand49917470
A seventh-grader who is six feet tall is one thing, but a seventh-grader who is six feet tall and can move the way that Alexandra does is a whole other thing. We see a lot of immobile “bigs” in this line of work who can’t stay in front of anyone laterally because they are just space eaters and can’t move very well. That is not the case with Gordon. She moves very well laterally and is a tremendous defender. If she isn’t swatting the shot, she is changing the shot and throwing the shooter off-balance down low with her positioning. She works hard inside and is a big-time difference-maker. She gets her points, but there are definitely more to come in the future as this youngster improves her rebounding and offensive footwork inside. The future is bright for this big-time star!
