This is a deep class with talent that has some of the best freshman not only in the state of Washington but across the country. Oliviyah Edwards Oliviyah Edwards 6'3" | C Elite Prep (Issaquah) | 2026 State WA and Brooklyn Haywood have received national attention. Shayla Cordis Shayla Cordis 5'8" | PG Timberline | 2026 State WA is making her own case for the same. Here are some of the best bucket getters in the freshman class.
Ranked number 3 in the Class of 2026, she has been lighting it up for Timberline. She had a 41 point game last week with seven threes. She is an all level scorer and an exceptional athlete who goes at the defense with a purpose. She is great at getting downhill and crafty when she reaches the bucket. She is getting 27 points a game and shooting 55% from the field. She had made 26 threes though 16 game and gets to the free throw line. Her and her ability to to put the defense on their heels is a big reason she has cashed in 75 points from the charity stripe. She has scored over 30 multiple times, including a school record 36 in the first game of her high school career. That being broken with her 42 last week. She also had 9 rebounds and 7 steals in that one. She is a thief on the defensive end and a smooth operator when finishing on the other end.
The best shooter in the state in my opinion. She forces teams to guard her close and takes advantage of what is given to her as good as any. She has elite ball skills and can beat you from anywhere. Her mid-range game is impressive. She shoots and sets up the pull-up jumper with her ball handling skills, losing the defense time after time. You can see that she has put in countless hours on her game. The pull up jumper is picture perfect. She has the ball on a string and even though she is facing everything the defense can throw at her, she can still get buckets at a high level. She has unlimited range and knocks down shots from well beyond the three point line. The ability to shoot it and get by the defense sets her apart and shows the work put into her game. When you watch her, you appreciate the fact that she is ready for anything she faces and does it with a confidence and killer instinct that is rare. A big reason she ranks #1 in the Class of 2026. She is getting around 25 points a game with over 30 multiple times.
Highlights
I might be more impressed with the way she runs the point but she also gets buckets at a high level. She has great change of pace, always prodding the defense and taking what is given. She has a great looking shot and big time range that screams greatness as a shooter. She gets herself into the lane and can score with her length and creativity. She is a great athlete who has a big upside. Her physical tools are all there. She had 34 points vs Overlake recently and has been over 20 multiple times. She is a scoring point guard who also makes great decisions with her excellent floor vision.
Another elite level shooter with range in the freshman class. She is a top 3 shooter in the rankings and that is a big reason why she is at #10. She can fill it up and stretch the defense. She has been consistent with her scoring, going over 20 multiple times with multiple threes in each of those games. If she is left open you can put it in the books. She has put in the time to make herself a big time scoring guard. She also has the point guard duties much of the time, and handles it well. She is strong enough to finish in the lane and can knock down mid-range jumpers. Her shot mechanics are excellent and shoots it effortlessly. A great sign of an elite shooter.
