McDonogh won their 5th IAAM championship in a wild game with an epic finish yesterday at Harford Community College. The two teams split their games during the regular season, with the visiting teams winning each time. Historically, St. Frances has dominated the IAAM with 13 championships since the league's inception in 1990. When their dominant streaks have been broken it has usually been McDonogh that has done it.

This game started off slowly with St. Frances taking a 9-8 lead after one quarter. Both teams looked jittery and a little sloppy in the opening frame. McDonogh found their footing in the second quarter and held a 23-16 lead at the break.

St. Frances had their best stretch in the third quarter and to start the fourth. [player_tooltip player_id='163910' first='Kameryn' last='Dorsey'] took over the game during this stretch with her passing and playmaking. Late in the fourth quarter she turned her attention to scoring and had some big buckets to give the Panthers a lead and what looked like control of the game. Some crucial foul calls and a big turnover allowed McDonogh's sensational freshman guard [player_tooltip player_id='433873' first='Autumn' last='Fleary'] just enough room to make some big plays on her own and help the Eagles pull off an unlikely 50-47 win. Let's look at who did what.

[player_tooltip player_id='433873' first='Autumn' last='Fleary'], 2026, McDonogh -

Autumn scored a team high 17 points and was the only Eagle in double figures on the day. After a slow start she settled down and let the game come to her. In the fourth quarter when the stakes were highest, she took over the game and refused to let her team lose. She stepped up and handled point guard duties under St. Frances' heavy pressure and never wilted. When the game was on the line, she called her own number and took big shots and made them. She put her stamp on this game and let it be known she will have to be dealt with for three more seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='163910' first='Kameryn' last='Dorsey'], 2023, St. Frances- Kam left everything out on the court and battled to the end. She was the best point guard on the floor and repeatedly set her teammates up with precise passes. When that didn't work out she took some big shots and made them in the fourth quarter. It looked like she was on her way to ending her high school career with another championship. She is still unsigned and figuring out her options at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='291153' first='Kimmya' last='Hicks'], 2023, St. Frances- Kimmya scored a game high 18 points and kept the Panthers in this one, making a crucial basket with 15 seconds left. She made two three -pointers which helped spread the floor, and also mixed it up in the paint where she provided scoring and rebounding. She is headed to Loyola in Maryland next year.

[player_tooltip player_id='142833' first='Anaiah' last='Jenkins'], 2023, McDonogh- Anaiah came to play in this one. She scored 9 points and grabbed 9 rebounds and provided physical play in the paint as usual. She wasn't backing down from anyone in the paint and she kept her teammates uplifted.

[player_tooltip player_id='142846' first='Paris' last='Locke'], 2023, McDonogh- I thought Paris played a solid game. She scored 7 points with all three buckets coming in transition. She played some good defense and provided some rebounding and secondary ball handling.

[player_tooltip player_id='569084' first='Dahni' last='Suggs'], 2026, St. Frances- The youngster impresses me every time I see her. She is unfazed by the magnitude of the games and just does her job. She has good footwork and a nice touch around the basket. She is going to be a problem going forward.
