The point guard and young leader is continuing a run of top notch perimeter players at East Grand Rapids. Carlson plays grassroots basketball for Michigan Basketball Academy (MBA). She has already received multiple collegiate offers and is on the radar of many more coaches at the next level. We recently caught up with Carlson to talk about her recruitment, her goals, and more.
Question:
What is the biggest strength in your game?
Alli Carlson:
My biggest strength is seeing the floor during the game and passing.
Question:
You’ve reveived multiple offers already. How does it feel?
Alli Carlson:
It feels rewarding that all of the work I have done has resulted to the offers and opportunities I have now.
Question:
What are you looking for in a school and team at the next level?
Alli Carlson:
I’m looking for a good fit, good academics, and a great culture in a school and team at the next level.
Question:
Is there added pressure knowing that college coaches are watching?
Alli Carlson:
I don’t focus on the coaches that are watching, I focus more on my teammates and winning so there isn’t any added pressure when coaches are there.
Question:
What are your goals for the rest of the summer?
Alli Carlson:
To keep improving and focus on my shooting and enjoying the game with my teammates, as well as competing to win.
Question:
What professional players game reminds you of your own?
Alli Carlson:
I try to play similarly to Allen Iverson. He was a great passer as well as a great defender when he played and that’s what I try to excel at in every game.
Question:
Who’s the toughest player that you’ve ever matched up with?
Alli Carlson:
I think the toughest player I get to play is Jillian Brown and we play on the same school team, so I get to play with her and against her everyday in season.
Question:
What’s your favorite thing to do in the summer, besides basketball?
Alli Carlson:
I love to swim and be outside with my friends and family and my dog.
