About Jaelyn
Expert Analysis
Akeem Webb | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Jaelyn really came into her own as the top option for Southwestern, leading the team with 15.7 points per game en route to a 21-win season, a 48th District title, and a 12th Region Championship game appearance. A lethal catch-and-shoot with seemingly unlimited range, she also does a great job getting her teammates involved. Jaelyn reached 1,000 points for her career and earned First Team All-Region honors.

stepped up in a big way, impacting the game on both ends while finishing with 23 points, six assists, and eight steals to lead Southwestern to a 58–29 victory over Mercer County. Dye’s all-around effort set the tone as the Lady Warriors controlled the game from start to finish. Southwestern will need to bring its “A” game in the next round as they prepare to face Boyle County in the 12th Region semifinals.

continues to perform at a high level in her junior season, leading Southwestern with 16.2 points per game. Fresh off reaching the 1,500-career-point milestone, she delivered another big-time performance, finishing with 33 points and seven rebounds while knocking down four three-pointers against Pulaski County. The Lady Warriors sit at 15–8 on the season and will look for redemption Friday when they face the Lady Maroons again.

is leaving her mark at Southwestern. She is currently leading the team in scoring putting up 13 points a contest and is second in rebounds with 5 per game. She is a full package guard who does it on both sides of the ball. Jaelyn recently reached 1,000 career-points and I think good things are to come from her throughout the season.

played at a high level for

15U on the EYBL circuit this past spring/summer. She is a lethal outside shooter with deep catch-and-shoot range. Jaelyn can play off ball as well as take on primary ball handler duties with her ability to see the floor and create for herself and others off the dribble. She put up 8.5 points and pulled down 3.6 rebounds a game her freshman season and I expect her to take a major step forward as a sophomore. (Featured Image)

played with ice in her veins at the Boo Williams, showing that she is a fierce competitor, and no moment is too big for her. She did a fantastic job penetrating the defense to either kick it out to an open teammate or finish strong in the paint. She also made several triples, and displayed a nice left-hand shooting stroke. Jaelyn had multiple buzzer beaters during the tournament and hit a big 3-pointer to send a game into overtime.

Dye has grown into her role as the season has gone along and she’s starting to hit her stride at the right time. When Southwestern is playing their best, they are super balanced on offense. Jaelyn can be a difference maker because she is a true three level scorer. While she has struggled at times this season to knock down threes, Dye is more than capable. And she’s highly effective as a wing scorer who penetrates after the initial attack of the ball handler.

Outlook: Dye is another player I had always heard great things about and after getting to see her in person, I am a big fan of her game. She just brings so much value to the court. She can knock down deep triples, has a good midrange game, and makes strong drives to the basket. However, she is so much more than just a scoring threat. It is going to be so fun watching her team up with the players at Southwestern this season because I think she’s a perfect fit for their team. She can handle the ball and distributes it so well, and there are parts of her game that really remind me of Kinsley Molden Kinsley Molden 5'6" | SG Southwestern | 2025 State KY who she’ll now be playing with. Dye has a very bright future and will definitely be a name to watch for this season.
