Continue ReadingWhile the AAU season is king right now, we are not far away at all from summer league and fall league basketball in New Jersey, one of the most competitive scenes nationwide. Part of that crusade is Hoops4MS, which puts on a great product for an even greater cause. Invites have already gone out this week to a number of Garden State prospects and we’ll be previewing some of those invites in this and upcoming articles.
Addy Platt Addy Platt 5'11" | SG Pope John | 2026 State NJ – Pope John (2026)
One of the best forwards in the state and an all-around talent at that, Platt staked her claim to be in the mix for all-state honors. She earned all-conference honors as a freshman, standing out with a top season amongst her 2026 peers. With a tall frame and a brand of physicality that gets her to the rim often, she will be must-watch basketball.
GiGi Battle – Rutgers Prep (2026)
It seems like we can’t avoid talking about Battle, who has picked up a number of big time Division I offers over just the last month, and recently tried out for Team USA’s U16 National Team. Not including her in something like this would have definitely turned some heads, but she’ll be able to show off her college-ready skillset as she enters her sophomore year with the Argos.
Taylor Derkack Taylor Derkack 6'0" | SF Colonia | 2024 State NJ – Colonia (2024)
A no doubt senior to keep tabs on next season, Derkack took her game to another level as a junior and realistically put herself in the conversation to reach 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds by the end of her senior season. She’s a double-double machine, able to command the boards and offenses from the post.
Hope Masonius Hope Masonius 5'9" | PG Manasquan | 2024 State NJ – Manasquan (2024)
Masonius is an exciting 2024 prospect who has always found her way into the spotlight and for good reason. She’s easily one of the best leaders of any high school program, playing with a maturity level beyond her years. Manasquan has benefitted greatly from her consistent leadership, but her crafty play at the top of the key makes her a dangerous player to guard.
Ava Fajardo Ava Fajardo 5'4" | PG Blair | 2026 State NJ – Gill St. Bernard’s (2026)
Fajardo’s freshman season at GSB came in a more complimentary role with such a balanced roster of talent, but make no mistake about this 5-4 guard. She can play and has proven she can play with the best of them on both an AAU and international scale. Right now, Fajardo is balling out for Exodus NYC, one of the premier programs in the tri-state area, and the more she continues to develop that point guard skillset, her game will grow exponentially.
Addison Nyemchek Addison Nyemchek 6'1" | CG Red Bank Catholic | 2026 State NJ – Red Bank Catholic (2026)
In a crowded roster of talent at RBC with an insane seven freshmen on the roster, Nyemchek had to do a lot to stand out from the crowd. The versatile 5-11 guard/forward made use of her tall frame and excelled as one of the top scorers for the Caseys. Next year brings with it much anticipation about her play, and this league will only help to increase the hype
