As teams settled in for their day 2 of camp at the BCAT Hoopfest, the excitement and competition was in the air. Even though it's just summer action, it was good to see matchups that may normally not take place. From public schools to private schools competing, to small schools to bigger schools going at it, the girls from this state get after it no matter who lines up across from them. Fans were really in attendance today and none of these squads who competed didn't disappoint . Girls were hitting their strides as shot after shot found the bottom of the net. What I loved the most about today, kids were getting after it on the defensive end. There was a lot of noise happenin and definitely energy from benches as girls climbed into one another. At the end of the day, it was all fun and games. Iron sharpens iron and our young ladies truly got better in more ways than one.

Here are a few takeaways from Day 2 at the BCAT Hoopfest .

Bartlett: They are strong, long, and super tough. They are crazy athletic as well. [player_tooltip player_id='513229' first='Faye' last='Williams'] is a monster on both ends of the floor. [player_tooltip player_id='290717' first='Carrington' last='Jones'] is athletic as all get out. This team is quick and will bring it for a full 32 minutes.

York led by [player_tooltip player_id='408995' first='Reese' last='Beaty'] will be back where they left off. This young lady sets the tone for her ball club and the whole team just jumps on board. Everyone feeds off each other and plays so well collectively.

The East Nashville squad is fun to watch. Led by [player_tooltip player_id='245365' first='Jazz' last='Walters'] and [player_tooltip player_id='290705' first='Kenya' last='Fairs'], these young ladies know how to get after it on both ends of the floor. Jazz, who can play inside and out, has great court vision. Knows when to attack or kick to open teammates . Kenya, knocked down some clutch shots from the field, while also finishing around the rim. These Lady Eagles, if healthy, will be soaring high come postseason.

Grace Christian Academy looked solid throughout the day. Led by [player_tooltip player_id='290971' first='Natalie' last='Kaye'], she was finding the bottom of the net on a consistent basis. From slashing through defenders on the way to the hole or knocking down shots from beyond the arc, she was the leading catalyst for the Lady Lions. [player_tooltip player_id='805497' first='Aubrey' last='Black'] and [player_tooltip player_id='290993' first='McKenzie' last='Kaye'] also contributed to the GCA attack. From making timely passes to rebounding, the GCA club went on numerous fast break efforts.

[player_tooltip player_id='245361' first='Kaelyn' last='Flowers'] from Blackman has some unfinished business to attend to. After not capturing a state title last year, these Lady Blaze are on a mission. Flowers is a Chris Paul mold, with the ability to score it at any time. [player_tooltip player_id='366664' first='Lyriq' last='Mastin'] can get downhill and finish, but also creates havoc on the defensive end. [player_tooltip player_id='290716' first='Aaiyanna' last='Dunbar'] looks to anchor the middle, providing Blackman with solid size. [player_tooltip player_id='245374' first='Tishana' last='Moore'] is a no nonsense player who gets after it on the boards and the defensive end. This group is a tough squad who has their eyes set on getting back to the “Glass House” at MTSU.
